Starting a thread to document this build.

Picked up a new 23' Wildtraks in Dallas, Tx two weeks ago and drove it home to middle Tennessee.

It came equipped with the SAS package, Fox coils, 35s" (even though they truly measure 33"), hard top, and the lux package.

This build will be for my wife, so offroad capable, but more so a glorified mall crawler. Might toss it on the trailer and drag it to King of the Hammers in January with the jeep if she's down. My 15 and 10 year old sons will be helping with the project as time allows in the evenings.

Plans are as follows.

EVO MFG Stage 3 2.5" King Coilovers and lift with EVO's front uppers, and rear uppers and lowers.
DV8 Front and Rear bumps, and rock rails.
JKS Front Max Tire Clearance Kit
37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers
20" Method Wheels
Katzkin Leather seats
White fender flares, door handles, mirrors,
Full stereo
Soft Top.

Few photos below of the progress thus far, while we wait on parts to ship.

The day she got home.

Sold the hard top pretty quickly.

Took the steps and roof rack off and started a scrap parts pile.

Parts finally showing up.

EVO kit and JKS brackets got here today.

Bumpers are set to arrive tomorrow. Then they will go off to paint and power coating. I still need to order lights, so anyone with a baja designs or Rigid coupon code feel free to DM me!

Also, picked up a OEM softtop this weekend, only to realize I need another $300 in parts to bolt it on to the dang rig. So stupid. Huge props to this thread : and @Catmandu for the walk thru on what all I needed to get ordered. Ordered everything from Ford today. Should be Monday/Tuesday of next week before it all shows up. Everything except those dang rear latch brackets.

Thats all for tonight. More to come soon.

Family in town this week with the Thanksgiving Holiday, so not sure how much time I'll get in the garage.

Stay tuned,

Niceface

Looks nice, congrats. Definitely want to see what this thing'll turn into if you're thinking of dragging it on a trailer to KOH. lol

Not a lot to report on unfortunately.

I took a pretty bad fall off my dirtbike a few weeks ago, and had a orthopedic appointment today to confirm what I kind of already knew. Yup, fractured elbow. No surgery, just rest. So this build will have to wait a few more weeks while the bone heals up.

While we wait, I found a OEM soft-top with hardware that I was able to pick up and walk my wife and oldest thru installing while I bolted everything up, so that's a plus. The windows are a pain in the ass to get on these things. Much more difficult that my JKU when it had a soft-top on it. I think I need two good arms to get those windows on. So that will have to wait as well.

Lastly, my wheels and tires came in from @Discount Tire Much appreciated buddy.

While I rest and heal, I'll get the front/rear bumpers and rock sliders and fenders off to the painters so they can paint everything to match the Oxford White.

Hopefully another few weeks of rest and I'll be back in the saddle and ready to get this lift bolted on.

Side note: Middle Tennessee offroad shops are EXPENSIVE as hell!. I called around to see about a shop putting the lift on so my wife didn't have to wait on my ass to heal. $2000 to put on a lift!!! Upper control arms in the front, upper and lowers in the rear, and coils on all 4 corners! All bolt on. No cutting/Welding...just bolt on. Crazy!!!

So we wait.... and heal.

@Niceface Sorry to hear about the injury. I imagine it didn't feel too good. Glad to hear you are on the mend! Can't wait to see the wheels on the rig!
