My 4-door Bronco recently developed a new hardtop rattle after I reinstalled the roof panels which had been off for a few weeks. The rattle is coming from the center strip between the two front panels – right where the driver’s front panel sits on top of the center seal attached to the passenger front panel.

From what I can tell, all of the bolts, brackets, clamps, and guide pins are tightened down as always. But for some reason, there’s now a bit too much play in that center area and when going over bumps the two panels seem to be clanking on each other.

I’m not sure if the driver’s panel has bowed in a way that’s not letting it sit flat or if the center seal is a bit warped and thus not making good contact. There’s nothing overtly visible, although I suspect it’s something with the shape of the seal.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, any suggested fixes to try prior to brining it to the dealer?

My top rotates rattle locations every now and again to the point that I stopped paying attention but yes at one point right between the two front panels was rattling. At first I thought it was an acorn bouncing but unfortunately it was the top rattling.

Loosen the hardtop latches that are above the windshield visors by the tiniest amount. If it's similar to what I sometimes hear in mine, it might help

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Same on my 24 Badlands, rattles quite a bit and I can hear contact on the metal pins above the switches as well. I think the passenger front panel is worse as it leaks when it rains and water runs down the inside of the A pillar..
