Got the BFG KO2's on the Bronco and took quite a long trip to and from the mountains again. This time not in really heavy downpour like last Wednesday but rather dry cold below freezing weather. Completely surprised at how great they feel on the highway in both cases. Also the ride is really comfortable. I thought about getting the KO3's but opted for the KO2's.

Truthfully I haven't used any BFG tires on anything in years. But great manners in both cases has me in a new appreciation for the tire and the company. And the ride is really smooth. KO3's...maybe next time.

Were they able to balance them so you have no vibration at any speed? That’s been my problem with BFG’s and I had three sets on three different vehicles all were 4wd.

Yeah and I was worried after reading some the threads. They do road force balancing as many shops are now doing. But I have smooth ride all the way up past 80 miles per hour.
Not sure past that since I haven't pushed that far yet.
Totally surprised at how smooth and well behaved they are. Quite a bit of dirt and gravel roads where I go and tires really grip well.

I use these tires on my heavy duty trucks and they are fantastic. I get between 70 and 80,000 miles out of them so the day I brought home my new Sasquatch I immediately replaced those crappy tires with a set of these and they have been great. I wanted the white letter tire so I had to get load range E but they still ride just as good as the OEM tires and they do not throw rocks. No chips in over 10,000 miles so far.

I switched my K03's after about 900 miles for trail terrain instead. Went from E rated to SL rated and much lighter tire.

The trail terrain did have some initial vibration as well which surprised me, but far less than the K03's and figured the shop didn't rebalance very well (they didn't do a good job the first time on the K03's either). But by the time I had a chance in my schedule to get them rebalanced, they had smoothed out on their own and are perfectly smooth now. What this taught me was that perhaps the BFG tire tread needs a thousand miles or so to round themselves out to smooth out? I don't miss the weight and mpg hit of the K03, but have wondered if I had stuck it out a little bit longer if they would have found there round and smoothed out better too. Regardless, very happy with the trail terrain's as well. Do great in the rain, and likely all I"ll ever need for off-roading.

Actually, I have not had any problems with the balance on mine, but I only have about 5k miles on them.

Curious why you opted for KO2 instead of KO3’s. Do we know if BFG will be selling them in parallel for a while?

Yes, they will. From what I've been told, the 2 sizes of K03 avaiable right off the bat are OEM spec.

With or without the $41 service plan?

And are they called Discount Tire down there in Texas?
I think I got those thrown in for free, as they didn't have the tires I ordered. Long story, but they took good care of me on the tires.

Had KO2 for 30k miles now. I have them balanced more than 8 times (I think). 2 out of 8 are smooth as butter, but others will vibrate over 50-70mph+. Interestingly, it cannot stay balanced after a few thousand miles or after the tire rotation (I checked the lug nut torques; they are good).

So my lesson is that it can be balanced, but it does require more frequent maintenance and good technicians. YMMV.
