My front bumper sucks, please help me upgrade it

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums and new to the Bronco. I just bought an Azure Gray/Blue 2025 Heritage Edition 4 door Bronco. Currently, everything on it is stock. I love the look of the Heritage model, but there are numerous upgrades/improvements I'm planning to make.

The first thing I'm doing is fixing these hideous plaid cloth seats. I'll be redoing those in brown leather ASAP. Pics to follow once that's finished.

Next up is this front bumper. Oof. I need to do something about this thing, but I don't really know what my options are. It's pretty overwhelming you research and I don't know which options are high quality and which ones to avoid. So I'm hoping you guys can help point me in the right direction.

I prefer a simple, clean look. I don't like gaudy over the top stuff. I like the look of these two bumpers below with the safari bars. But what else is out there, and who makes the best quality bumpers?

Oh, and feel free to hate on the Heritage Edition. You won't hurt my feelings. I'll still love it.

Looks like you have a capable bumper. The ones you like are Ford modified bumpers with JCR Baja bars. Same as I have on mine. Others have done conversions and can walk you through the transition, I ordered mine, and got my dealer to install the JCR before delivery since it sat on my porch for 2 months in the box waiting on my Bronco. Bolts right on, but my days of turning wrenches are over. Can't get why they cheaped out on the Heritage like that...

Yours is one of the two upgraded bumpers: capable. It’s powder-coated steel and has foglights standard. It strikes a balance between street and trail.

The mod is the other upgrade option and the most trail-oriented. You lose the standard fog lights but gain modularity (removable end caps), recovery options, accessory mount points and some clearance. This article breaks it down:

I purchased a modular bumper for my BD off Fb market place for $200 in MINT condition. The BD comes standard with a steel front skid plate, which saved me some $$ and was a plug and play fit with the modular bumper. I feel extremely lucky about that find. Like what @Smocaine said, a good deal can be had from Ford for a new one, comes with skid too.

From what I’ve seen that works with all factory equipment and still looks good is the modular bumper. Which I got on my HE and it’s amazing. I paired it with turn off roads pre runner bar. Here’s a photo of mine so you can see what yours would look somewhat like.

Mine came with the standard (plastic) bumper. Really wish it had the capable one. I like the look a lot more.

I think the capable bumper is the best looking bumper on the Bronco, and replacing it with anything aftermarket just ruins the look of the vehicle.

If you have the accessory switch option in your bronco (instead of the sunglasses holder), it's very easy to add back the fog's into the modular bumper. I've got the modular with the factory bully bar and added flood/fogs from IAG. They take up two of the switches in the car, one for flood, the other for yellow fog. Very easy to do!

I ordered mine when I bought it. Spec'd it out with everything possible except Sasquatch. Was on the fence about upgrading to the modular bumper, but glad I spent the money for it. I think it was a $600 or $900 upgrade with I ordered it (Dec 2023), but can't recall exactly. Nonetheless, the link here shows a price that actually isn't that bad when compared to at time of purchase for me. I love the bumper for sure.

I swapped out the plastic base bumper with the modular one from Ford Performance. Pretty easy to do and looks so much better.

I'm exaggerating when I said it sucks. I don't actually hate it. I just like the look of the safari bars better. I think I'd be fine with this bumper if there was a safari bar I could attach to it.

I’m not crazy about the look of the attachment bracket. The mod bumper bars offered now look way more integrated and less like an afterthought.
