So the Bronco lies because your Jeep did, LOL . Give it another 1000+ miles. Mine has been steadily going up.I know. It shows 16.8. I had a jeep and it was a lie o meter, about 3 mile off
The meter on the Bronco is not perfect. Mine shows 17.0 but my hand calculate is 16.6 over the last 5000 miles. So the Bronco lies because your Jeep did, LOL . Give it another 1000+ miles. Mine has been steadily going up.
My wife's F-150 shows 6mpg on the display when I merge onto the freeway. It's kind of hilarious watching the 5 minute MPG graph.I also pull out of work directly onto a 75mph highway, so I have to get on it pretty hard when leaving to merge.
On the highway, aerodynamics are the main factor. SAS is a major brick. I am actually thinking of selling my Big Bender non-SAS to get a sprite car that will be better on gas….but I probably won’t. The truck feels so good to pilot.Holy smokes! I’ve got the same vehicle, but with the Sasquatch package. Best I get is 17.3 mpg on the highway. I drive in Eco mode unless I’m feeling frisky… Huge bummer the Sasquatch package makes a 7 mpg difference.
What I have found is that when in ECO mode, you have to put in the effort for it to yield better results. You will notice that eco mode really sucks the fun out of the vehicle lol. So the first few times I used it, I found myself actually driving it a little harder to drive like I normally do.Just for fun, I wondered if ECO mode actually helped my mileage on my commute. So, after break in period, I ran for approximately 1500 miles on normal, then 1500 miles on ECO (yes, I pushed that stupid OK button every time I started up). The results?
Normal mode, 1584.8 miles, 18.9 mpg
ECO mode, 1548.4 miles, 18.8 mpg
Some caveats. 2 Door OBX, non-sas with 2.7. Almost 100% commuter miles, my commute being approximately 13 miles each way, in a very suburban to urban environment (mostly stop and go in DC area traffic). MPG not based on actual gas consumption and mileage, but rather using the trip computer. I don't necessarily care about the trip computer's accuracy, but rather its precision, since this was to compare normal to ECO.
Could there be lots of reasons for this? Sure. But even taking a lot of variables into account, I would have assumed ECO would produce better MPG. Oh well. At least I don't have to push that OK button anymore.
What is your Avg Speed? on the highway did you use cruise? Are you patient with slow drivers? My FE is sitting at 14.9 for her first 2,500 miles. That’s probably 50/50 highway city. Took a little road trip today ALL highway. 13.1
