Motor Oil Quantity on 2.7

Good day everyone. I have a 2023 Wildtrak 4 door. Please note that I didnt measure the first time I changed it.

I installed a Ronin plug during the first change.

Today I changed the motor oil and filter. After measuring what I took out and put back in, both are at about 6.4 quarts.

I was under the impression that it took 7.7 quarts. The lipstick reads at slightly above max with the 6.4 quarts. I also let it drain until it stop (tiny drips left).

What gives?

Think this was resolved so that the 2.7 and 2.3 are 6.0 qts now.

Interesting. Thank you very much! I didnt realize. Good thing I checked the dipstick before continuing to add.

Did you use a drain hose with the ronin? Without worry of scalding my arm I'm draining it at a much higher temp to hopefully help everything flow out more freely. I seem to get all of it this way whereas I used to lose a half quart somewhere.

No drain hose. The max pressure allowed by the ronin is not a lot so a hose hasn't been needed.

Before I drained I losses the filter, removed cap and dip stick got 6.5-7 in.

I just changed the factory fill on 24 wildtrak with 3,300 miles. Remived filter first, then let pan drain 20 min. Didn’t spill any draining and it measured almost 7 quarts. 6.5 quarts went back in be at full mark
