I might venture with this in the near future, and make it lockable storage box.
let us know if you do.like to see it.🤙

If I had a sheet of the MIC material, could 💯 design a system to swap out glass to panel and back.

Remember early in the concept builds, the overland build had modular rear/side window inserts. Any company’s working on this by any chance? A retrofit kit, or the like.

I saw that concept and it looked good. The interesting thing about this window is that the 2021 Owners Manual actually has a page on the MIC “ removable window “. when equipped.

We will be offering a side-mounted roof rack that goes in that location but no plans to replace that window... not sure if this helps but thought we would mention it.
Ive been watching your R&D and design.
I like where you’re going with it.
Just not sure I want to add a rack to the top.

Using the word "Modular" in the title is throwing the simple minded off track because of the old mythical "Modular body color painted Hard Top" that was supposed to become available/ factory optionable in 2023 from a vendor OTHER THAN Webasto.
I have not heard a peep in a very long time about that.
Maybe change the title from "Modular" to "MIC window ....."

Otherwise it is a very valid question, as some vendors had stated back when the Overland Rig was revealed that they would consider producing said window blank.

That being said, considering the shortage of MIC tops, the market for that window blank is probably pretty small ... for the moment.
It's still a cool idea though.
Having enough people showing interest in it is what will get it built, eventually.

Agreed; wasn’t intentional. I was using it generically.
Wasn't aware I was going to start a semantics debate. 😂

My thought was, yeah, I know Ford dropped the idea. But with so many US 🇺🇸 start ups and in-house manufacturing in the off-road community, thought maybe somebody was doing R&D. Advanced Fiberglass comes to mind.

I don’t want a roof rack system, but would like a side mounting option for the limited amount of gear I’d need to carry. Shovel. Recovery boards. Etc but didn’t installed for daily use.

🤙🏼
