Modular MIC Window Inserts

Remember early in the concept builds, the overland build had a MIC side window inserts., that “FORD may develop.” Any companies working on a modular version of this by any chance?

I would imagine they need the modular hard top to actually exist before they can develop products for it.

We will be offering a side-mounted roof rack that goes in that location but no plans to replace that window... not sure if this helps but thought we would mention it.

But the top pictured in a MIC top, they just cut out/removed the glass window and replaced it a solid piece. It wasn't removable like the MOD top windows were going to be.
Anyone could do this if they had the skills and material to make a replacement piece to glue back into the opening.

I might venture with this in the near future, and make it lockable storage box.

I know that is a popular mod in the 4runner community. I have seen a lot of videos of guys busting out the back windows to put in storage systems.

nobody is going to waste time and resources making something for an option that does not exist yet, dimensions of windows might change, fasteners, thickness, etc. Plus I won't believe it until I see it on a production vehicle actually sold by Ford. Their track history on this launch is abysmal.

It's popular in the Cruiser community too. It gives you another avenue to access your stuff in the back without opening the doors or tailgate. Good example is you've set up camp, got your kitchen going in the back and you need to get to your tools. Just pop the side open.

I'm sure it would be well received for Broncos.

actually, modular window was mentioned in OP, but I was just clarifying that the windows were in fact not modular in that demo/overland build, and that the top is MIC. They was a lot of questions about those windows and they said they were just glued in place, not removable.

Yes I would assume everyone is well aware the MIC does not have modular windows.

Here's an old thread about the differences of the two. I don't know how accurate it is anymore but it does stat the Modular top would have removable windows. I wonder what would be involved with swapping it out on a Mic top if it was available.
