Amazingly the defender ladder fits almost perfectly without mods. 259 on eBay. The bolts that go in the bottom of the rails for the TRMR line right up. I just drilled a couple holes in the top plate of the ladder for the bolts.
I used the unused trailrax plate for the waterport above the rotopax on the driver side.
I love that ladder! Is there a way to make that ladder fit with any other roof platforms? I was thinking of getting Inno, but it doesn't seem to have any way to attach this side ladder.

It really just needs the one rail that attaches under the top or something similar to hold the weight and keep it from touching the glass/plastic of the top.

Wish I'd found this earlier! Nice work. I might still add sister plates just in case! :)

I was very tempted to go with a hard shell from BA tents. The 5" height was super compelling and would have looked great on this modified rack. I just couldn't pull the trigger since I'm 6'1" and wasn't confident I could comfortably fit in one of their tents.
Did you find a tent yet? My hard shell is 82" closed and at 6' 0" my feet do touch the top if I'm laying on my back. A shorter pillow would help, I have a few extra inches over my head.

I trimmed down a 4dr rack too, a cheap Hooke Road. It was $100 cheaper than the 2dr model so I took the chance. It's kind of a flimsy POS though and really noisy.

Yeah I went with the FSR Aspen Lite. Not the thinnest tent, but it's a great fit for the 2 door, comes with a comfortable 3 inch mattress, and I fit reasonably well (my toes can still touch the roof a little when I lay all the way out but it's not bad).
