Hey All,

My wife and I are headed to Moab on 24 June. Has anyone else signed up for that running? If so, where are you staying? The resort close to the kick off is cool and all but essentially $400 a night (The two nights with all the fees and resort taxes, etc = $800) seems a bit steep. Whomever had stayed there, what were your thoughts?

Thanks,
JP

The lodge is nice. Rooms are good most overlook the river. Can’t beat the location and the grounds are peaceful just to walk around. Restaurant has a great breakfast and good dinner menu. Down side is it far from any other dining options.

The resort is nice but it’s way out of town. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express, it’s in town and has breakfast and a nice pool.

I stayed at the Element Moab hotel in one of their queen studio rooms. Was only $105/night and very large room. Had to drive for food & such, but nice place to stay.

Wow that a good price, had to be off season. Most of the time it’s $300+

Thanks for the responses. We ended up booking at the resort due to how close it was. We won’t be staying there for the whole trip, just the nights around the rodeo. Anyone else going that day?

We're staying at the best western in Moab. There are no inexpensive hotels in Moab during the on season. We're paying somewhere around $300 per night.

We’re here now and staying in a nice AirBnB but after seeing the lodge today and talking to a couple staying there, we do wish we had booked one night at the lodge -book the night of the Off-Rodeo so you can hang for the campfire afterwards. I’m with my daughter this trip, but had I been with my girlfriend …definitely would have done one or two nights at the lodge.

We had Pete as an instructor and he’s an excellent guy who knows his stuff. The other instructor is Brian who I believe is the man in charge so he should be great as well. Either way you’re sure to learn something

Just got back. Man! It was awesome! We had Dave as our instructor and he explained what we needed but then just kind of let us learn on our own. He stayed in the radio and obviously guided/spotted for us when a tough obstacle came along. We had such a good time. The only bummer is that we can only go to one.

I saw you guys out there, no matter how we tried to avoid your groups we kept crossing paths since you were back and forth on the mining roads between the trail. Looked like you guys were having some fun.
