I don't even have a build date. I am literally not going to get my day 2 res until the 2023 model year, am I. 🤬
I have come with terms this is most definitely happening. I had another friend who is stuck in production from Jan and got a May update, I told him yup its built sitting in the snow in Detroit, your not getting it for a while.

Read through the build week threads. It's happening to almost everyone (+3 months on the edd) due to chips. Plus future build weeks in Feb and Mar got pushed back two weeks. So April is half full (presumably due to Plant shutdown).

My Bronco has been in Production mode for 3 weeks now. So I reached out to my dealer and the info he has is that my bronco is 95% built but is on a Micro-chip hold until 5/25/22
I’m in the same boat. July 14, 2020 reservation, my build date has been bumped 8 times, and I reordered it 4 times at Fords request. Finally built on 1/28/22 and waiting on the chip, tow package and delivery now.

I've been "in production" since the 1/10/22. Wondering if I have the same issue.
Yes you do. You should be able to see your updated production date when you you click on the track my order button in the production email from Ford. You just need order # and vin. Then scroll down to under the picture of your bronco.

The scary thing here is, if this truck won't be done till MAY due to a chip issue. What does that mean for all the other vehicles not yet built? Is Ford just not going to build any more vehicles until they get enough chips to power all the vehicles they already built?

This could turn into a snowball of death.

Did they say which module is holding up the build? I'm thinking my Bronco is held up because of the Tow Package. This would be the TTM Module. (Trailer Tow Module)

Your Bronco has about 30 modules so it could be any of them causing the delay.
Here's a question- I did not get the tow package because I was planning on installing one myself. If ford does not install a TTM on my build is that going to be an issue for me later?

Nice! Congrats! That's a really fast trun around from order to delivery if they actually hit that May 25th date. You're one of the lucky ones. I'm sure a lot of people here are probably jealous of that turn around time.

You can install everything yourself except for the TTM. The TTM cannot be added later as it's part of the factory module programming which is built around the VIN Number. Plus the wiring is different with the Tow Module. With the TTM the Left, Right Turn, Brake, and Parking light signals are sent to the TTM via the CAN. (Controller Area Network).
So what does the module do? This is just speculation as this info isn't published anywhere. The Module could kill the rear cameras during towing. It could alter the engine tune. It could change transmission shift strategy like a tow-haul button on other vehicles. It could change or kill the cruise control. It could do many different things depending on how it was programmed. Again just speculation.

This morning(2-9-22)...on the business news it said even Toyota has cut their production "another half of a million vehicles" for the 22 model year..due to their chip problems... also Honda's profits will take a hit because of their chip shortages...so yes it's a mess..

I guarantee you nobody has been waiting as long as Bronco orderers for a car that is on the road, let alone on its "2nd production year."

Sure would be good if Ford provided more transparency (LOL!!) on these issues. With the factory shut-downs and chip shortages until May, first I guess it depends on what chip(s), but otherwise I wonder if the assumption should be that with no build date yet, than none likely until June or later.

I'm now 19 months in as a July 2020 reservation holder, so this is starting to feel like delivery no sooner than Q4 of 2022 and a strong possibility of sometime in 2023.

Mine went into production as of 01/28/2022 and was supposed to be delivered 02/07/2022. I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to be a while. So frustrating. I work at a dealership and for all we knew everything was on track... I ordered tires and other accessories already, that are just sitting in storage now. What a brutal experience.
