So, are you saying that the ETA in the Tracker changed from an earlier to a later date, or that the ETA stayed the same but the dealer gave you a later date?

Wonder if the chip delay is just 2.7s. Someone posted that 2.7s are on hold, but that was a "my dealer said"

I have also noticed a lot of 2.3 being scheduled in February
scheduled 2/7 for Base, 2dr MT 2.3L

I’m just curious, have all of you received VIN/Build dates? And dealers have been saying there’s an additional delay post-build?

Picked mine up last night and financing guy mentioned that the chips for auto start/stop are a thing right now as far as getting them. First I've heard anything so specific, take with a grain of salt etc

The gentleman I spoke with at the dealer stated my unit had been built, but then parked in storage awaiting a microchip

Think that has been an ongoing issue for Ford F150s.

I am not trying to get into politics here - I am just making a point -

If Russia invades Ukraine , I can seriously see China going to take Taiwan. Taiwan has the most important microchip production foundries in the world and China relies on Taiwan for microchips, both for their own internal needs and to power all the stuff they sell to us and the rest of the world. That could cause a real problem.

I read that one of the big problems was because Coronavirus changed many industries, other companies/industries snapped up all the microchips that the US auto industry wasn't needing because of less workers in the plants and less demand of cars. But now they need them and the market, supply, and demand for microchips changed globally, they can't just say "Hey we need a bigger order ..."

So with China having wanted Taiwan back since the day they arrived there, and desperately wanting to control their microchip foundries, I can totally see that happen. And "sanctions?" LMFAO. China will be sanctioning US.

Ford's long-standing argument against communication is your dealer is supposed to communicate with you on your specific order. Which... honestly... I can't argue with. Technically we are our dealer's customers and not Ford's customers.

The problem with that is most dealers seem to have zero idea what communication and customer service is. And somehow, most dealers are even worse at providing information than Ford is. If you don't constantly bother them, complete radio silence.
Agreed - though I don’t believe the problem is that Ford is giving dealers a ton of information and they just aren’t communicating it.

That’s rough. I was hoping mine would be smooth sailing because I got a quick build date, but it’s looking like that’ll be pushed back if this is happening with built units.

2.3 BD with manual transmission, so pretty basic interior and I got the delay. It is definitely not limited to 2.7
