It’s very odd since we see some 2022‘s get delivered. Have a friend who’s 2021 Black Diamond had and ETA of 1/9 now has been moved to 1/31. Reason unknown.

I do not think it is an excuse. Article in today’s Wall Street Journal. Auto chip supply is severely low

Sorry. Was not making it seem as if I did not believe it to be true. But it can easily be used as one is all I was saying.

Sorry were short on X bc of microchips. When in reality its bc I planned poorly how much stock of X to order based on demand and now I am waiting for stock.

Agree. When I saw it on the dealers log from ford I kinda thought ok. If they feel the need to lie that is really low. But your point.

Ford's long-standing argument against communication is your dealer is supposed to communicate with you on your specific order. Which... honestly... I can't argue with. Technically we are our dealer's customers and not Ford's customers.

The problem with that is most dealers seem to have zero idea what communication and customer service is. And somehow, most dealers are even worse at providing information than Ford is. If you don't constantly bother them, complete radio silence.
Agree with the dealer communications statement. One would think that due to shortage of automobiles on the lots, dealers would have nothing but time to communicate with customers regarding their orders.

Understand makes some sense. But the world is changing Ford and the dealer system needs at least changes. Communication and reservations can easily and be don better centrally. Ford would profit from more vertical integration. It might be too late RE Tesla.

conceptually this makes sense. however, this doesn't appear to be feasible in reality. it seems that the underlying issue is that Ford's systems don't show what's going on nor do they communicate with their dealers so our dealers are being kept in the dark too. the only thing i can think is that Ford is very intentionally choosing not to communicate with us for whatever reason. the fear of bad press would be my guess.
