Method Wheels - is wheel stud too short on Black Diamond?

So I got my black diamond with Steelies and pulled them off to replace with Method 315's and could barely see the wheel studs. The methods are much thicker. I was able to get 7.5 turns which seems ok, but man they look short. Is the wheel stud shorter for the steelies, only 7/8'" long? see pics.

In theory, the depth of the engagement of a nut onto a stud (lug) should at least be equal to or greater than the diameter of the stud. At 7.5 turns you are probably "right there". That said, it is easy enough to replace the studs. They can be banged out with a hammer and you can "pull" new ones in with a washer and high quality nut. I'd recommend that you swap them out.

That sucks, but it makes perfect sense that the thinner flange on the steel wheels can use a shorter stud. I’m surprised this is the first post I’ve seen about the issue.

So long as you are getting a full nut of threads you are OK. I know you cannot tell for sure w/ the capped nuts but you should be able to confirm w/ by using an un-capped nut for visual verification.

UPDATE - I ordered the correct lugs from Method and they work fine. 7-8 turns which should be plenty of thread contact. The Method lugs are smaller in diameter than the OEM from Ford.

Lugs are 12x1.5 Part number LK-W56015SB

I am having the same issue with my badlands and Liberty rims. I only get about 5 turns. Does anyone where i can get longer studs and have a part number ?

Toyota guys use ET lug nuts to get more thread engagement. I didn’t need ET on my Badlands, but I used them anyway as more thread engagement can’t be bad.
