Hey, wait a minute…

@GravyTrain - Do you work for FoMoCo? Are you essentially asking for MAP employees to put up their hand? I see what’s going on here… well played.

Just kidding, of course. I 100% understand what you’re looking for :)

Yes, you are acting entitled to information. you can decide if that is a good or bad thing.

They are being transparent, you just want more transparency. They have communicated, setting up a portal to show you what stage your future vehicle is in, but you want more communication.

What level of transparency and communication. would satiate your appetite for unactionable information?

I suppose I am comfortable with milestones and you desire more. it is a difference of opinion.

I'm not sure I agree. Customers are entitled to information, what and how much is the real question. If I put a deposit down on a contractor to build my house and was provided a tracker to show milestones of completion and saw that progress had stalled out for a month with no explanation, I would not be considered entitled to ask what is causing the stall and when they plan to resume. So now the question is, how often are they expected to communicate? Every instance of a hold up? Delays that are greater than X amount of days? A contractor building a house for one person isn't exactly the same as Ford building hundreds of thousands of units for hundreds of thousands of potential customers, but I'd consider a delay of 1 month or greater significant enough to explain. And that isn't proprietary information; information does not need to be actionable to be relevant.

Let me be clear. I do not want proprietary information just the basics about all those June builds just sitting in the lot.

I am not entitled to this information. Ford is making a product and I assume want people to buy it. If they don't care about the few people like myself, I am okay with that. That is their right to not cater to me. We thankfully have other options. They made a product that is very appealing and they have a huge opportunity to bring in new customers.

I am not a mole or rat or plant for Ford. If they went to that kind of effort then posts like this wouldn't exist.

Clearly this thread took a quick turn south. Have a great day and I hope everyone gets their Broncos quickly.

I'm out.
You have been a forum member long enough to have seen several dozen threads over the last few months describing every step, mis-step and delay, have you read all of those threads?

Just as an example of what can happen to you if you work for Ford-

Someone took a photo of the new dash/infotainment system for the Lincoln Nautilus back in December 2019 at the plant and posted it to social media before Ford unveiled it.

They where fired after that.

Ross has "contacts" that leak info and he can re-inbetween the lines on for information to give to us. Short of Ford going all Gestapo on us and leaking different information to different people to sniff out the mole, I think they don't have to worry too much.

I know someone who works at MAP and is active on the forum I moderate and he constantly removes things after second guessing his postings.

Yes, and yes. If you notice these questions haven't been answered definitely.

Reasons:
MIC
Tow package
Lux package
Roof rails
Rock sliders
Sub chip shortage
2dr vs 4 dr
the list goes on.....

My conclusion so far is that it could any one of these or all of these.

Are you saying that this has been answered already and I should know based on all the threads?

Please enlighten me to my ignorance. What is the answer?

It IS entitlement to ask people who work at MAP to take time out of their full-time work day and / or life in general outside of work to do you a favor and track down your individual case. It is not their job to ferret out issues that have nothing to do with them. Just ask poor Ross - he is now SNOWED UNDER with individuals asking all kinds of ridiculous questions about their particular builds. Should I do X, should I do Y? what if I do x then y? What will make my truck come sooner? What should I eat for breakfast? I am surprised he hasn't been run off by now. Realize that when anyone with any insider information answers a question on here they get 100x more questions from all the others who now feel entitled to ask. There is a ton of info on this forum already and those willing to research can make adult decisions based on that info.

A closer analogy would be a developer building an entire neighborhood where you reserved a lot and ordered a particular floorplan they provided. Until they produce said home and you close on the finished product it is their property. You get to do a home "inspection" as part of the closing process before signing the final paperwork. (I know the process varies from development to development but stay with me)

Similarly you get to inspect the built product once delivered to the dealership, accept delivery and close the deal by signing the final sale documents.

I'd actually be pretty surprised if many people physically working in MAP had access to detailed enough customer information to easily correlate individual VINs to individual customer orders. That doesn't seem like something that satisfies 'need to know' criteria below at least mid-level management.

So not sure how much more helpful true insiders would be beyond the second hand info @PREMiERdrum has been generous enough to share

Exactly - and how many of us would try to contact a carpenter who is working in the development installing staircases to ask them about the delays in bathroom fixture installations at some of the home sites. Do you think they would go check around and get you some answers?

Agreed 100% if the question was "Please track down person X's particular order"

Asking if someone is willing to share information on holdups is not the same thing, however, as has been mentioned MAP employees have been driven off and been reprimanded. We need to keep that in mind too, nobody should lose their job to appease us (not trying to call anyone out, this applies to me too)

I agree with you however that isn't the question I asked or the information I wanted.
No one needs to look up my build. It's a general question about all builds sitting in a lot.
No one needs to risk their job.
