Manual Wait Time - New Order

Currently an owner of a MY22 Badlands manual. Was thinking of ordering a MY24 Badlands manual with different options. Anyone care to estimate what type of lead time I'd be facing if I placed the order today? I'm going non-SAS and will leave off anything else commodity-constrained (except the manual hah).

It all depends on your dealer allocations and what they’re scheduling every week. Typically 4-6 months average wait time.

out of curiosity why don’t you wait for MY 2025? I feel like if you order today, there’s a chance you might need to transition the order to 2025 anyway towards the end of the year.

I've used Ford's inventory search for dealers within a 100 mile radius. Their search is the absolute worst. I select 1 criteria of "manual transmission" and it returns automatics only. I'll call my dealer and ask if they have a better way

I'm sure they'll have good deals on 2024s towards the end of the year

I drove manual for a little bit until I cooked my dad's clutch disc. Been driving automatic ever since

Yeah, they can locate exactly what is where as far as new Fords on the lot.

I've heard that there are no more allocations for '24 7MT builds - the 7MT build runs seem to be pretty limited and only run early on in each build year.

Not sure if there is any truth to that

I honestly should. At the time, my plan was to get a Honda civic type R but that idea quickly fell apart after the clutch “incident”

I cant speak for the other runs prior to mine, but I ordered my manual end of May, confirmed June 6th and is scheduled week of August 12th. Fingers crossed.

Love the manual transmission! It’s all we have in my driveway

I ordered a manual 2-door big bend on July 17. Just got my order scheduled & VIN email today - 9 days after the order was placed with a scheduled build week of September 2.

Order placed: July 17

Build & VIN email received: July 26 (9 days after order placed)

Scheduled build week: September 2 (47 days after order placed)

Arrival at dealer: TBD

For all of our 4 daughters we made sure their first car or truck was a manual transmission. That meant they could drive anything in their future even if their boyfriend couldn't. My wife even prefers a manual. But they are unicorns in today's market.
