So I did this today. I feel like an old lady with this, but I park in the city a lot and it keeps eyes off whatever I’m hauling.

Yeah, I know there’s tons of security stuff out there, and I have a Slipstream on my Jeep since it’s a soft top, but this works for me around town. It also comes out in 2 seconds when I need the cargo area.

I’ve had one for a while and I’m happy with it, for the same reasons. A common problem is the adhesive not lasting so I need to put on some new 3m tape to stop those plastic end pieces from coming off.

Same here. That tape they provide doesn't hold very well, especially on the rear where you hook it to when pulled out. I have half a mind to use a trim push pin rivet on it, but haven't got out there and drilled a hole yet.

Installed this today and the left side is sagging (see photos) when the cover is fully extended. Brackets have no tolerance for adjusting location to allow the cover to pull out more (left side is being shorted about 3/4” to eliminate the sag) so not sure if the cover itself is defective? I reached out to Mabett and waiting for a response. Anybody experience this?

I have 2 of them and they work great to keep prying eyes out and soft top windows from flying away when the top is off.

Are you sure the mounts for the roller are stuck to the inside trim at the exact same spot? I suspect the left side is 3/4” closer to the rear. Alternatively, when the cover is retracted is it even across the roller?

The brackets where the roller snaps into catch against the factory molded plastic cover where the seat belt slides into to not allow the bracket to freely slide rearwards if the tape gives, so no room to install it too far back. If I move the left side bracket towards the front to eliminate the slack it will touch the seat belt. I assume it’s not supposed to do that.

When fully retracted the cover is even. I triple checked to see if there was any way to adjust it, but it’s even. It just catches about 3/4” too far back on the left.

Sounds like you have a defective cover my friend. PM @Mabett and they will take care of it for ya!

I was having issues with the adhesive too and ended up using another tape with marginally better success. Now one of my plastic pieces has disappeared off the face of the planet. I assume it fell off (and out) of the truck. Any idea if it’s possible to buy just the plastic receiver pieces? I assume any brand will do. I prefer not to buy the whole setup again if I can avoid it.

Pro tip - Try some 3M VHB tape (Very High Bond). It's significantly better than regular doubled sided foam tape. And, as you probably know, surface prep is critical, must be bare, clean, spotless, no prior tape residue (if tape was originally used).

did not experience the sagging cover at all and have bought 2 of these. Be careful with adhesion promoter - may discolor your plastics…

It was a defective roller. Mabett said they would send me a replacement roller a few weeks ago. Still waiting but hopefully I’ll get it soon.
