I have a couple of questions for those with front plates from the dealership.

1. Did the dealership drill holes on the trim below the grill?

2. If yes and you’ve relocated your license plate, how did you cover the holes?

Asking because on my OW WT, l feel the holes are very conspicuous. And the screws from the license plate frame has raised the area surrounding the hole that I think it’ll look weird even when covered with a vinyl pasty.

@HBTFD Thanks! Installed your license plate bracket, by the way and it definitely looks better now.

I actually texted my dealer this morning telling them not to mount the front plate/holder when mine comes in.
Apparently, my research was incomplete since it didn’t include how Ford would provision the installation of the front brackets. I had asked the dealership to install it because it is required in IL. Had I known that it involved drilling new holes, I’d have told them otherwise.

Just sucks that Ford couldn’t find a better way of doing this.

The mod bumper already looks like Swiss cheese, especially with all the sensor holes, the only one who will notice the extra holes are you. Don't sweat the petty stuff, don't pet, the sweaty stuff.

I’m a fan of the utilitarian look myself, so the mod bumper looks in my book. The trim above the bumper where there are two needless holes is something else though.

But I’m taking your advice about what not to pet… 😂

I specifically instructed my dealer to not install the front license plate bracket, but they don't normally install it anyway, they just include the bracket and screws in the original plastic bag.

I debated whether or not to install the front plate, but since I have a personalized plate on it, I wanted to show it off front and rear. On the Base model, at least, there are two ways to mount the bracket, up high drilling into the paint or down lower were it is "supposed to be".

Yes, I drilled two holes in the plastic bumper, but not in the paint and I'm happy with the results.

Put my @HBTFD plate holder on the plastic rock guard under the bumper. It still sits high enough to avoid any issues. The dog likes it:

I made them replace the trim piece. They had to order it and get it painted " the dealership had to pay a auto shop to remove the old piece, paint and replace the new trim piece. The trim piece does come with very tiny pin holes so people who want to mount to it will have guide holes. Basically the whole issue was because when I ordered the bronco I told the sales manager not to mount the license plate because I had a relocation bracket. The sales manager said he tells the shop to never mount the front plate and for some reason they did it anyway.

I was all set to disagree with you, but went out and checked mine to be sure and yep, there they are. Not quite holes, but indentations to make it easy to drill. I don't remember anything like that in the bumper for the lower installation, but it's been two years, so I wouldn't remember that anyway.
