can get black with orange letters here in CA, might do that someday, would go good with my cyber orange.

That's my plan. Should be simple enough. When you fill out the registration paperwork to get your Bronco plates, just complete the Special Interest License Plates Application (REG 17) ad mark California 1960s Legacy to get your black/yellow plates.

Those throwback plates are SO hideous! I've managed to keep my blue Empire State plates since the Liberty plates were rendered invalid! I like the new Excelsior plates, but have no reason to switch, until I have to.

Interesting but(IMHO) looks like a solution looking for a problem (registration and transfers). -- Here in PA, since they abandoned registration stickers, a ton of cop cars have gotten plate readers, so if you're driving around with no reg they are going to get ya. Also, you can't get your annual safety and emissions inspection stickers ( which are on the windshield and highly visible ) without registration and insurance. -- Transferring the plate to another vehicle -- easy and, for most people, infrequent enough to not be worth it - just go to your local auto tags place and transfer it in 10 minutes - or if you're at a stealership, they can do it when they steal your trade. -- It amazes me some of the 'brilliant' ideas tan get funded.
