My top is relatively quiet up front, most of the wind noise I hear seems to be from the back. Hesitant to take off the panels because of reports from others that when they put them back on increased cabin noise.

How is this different from people.using pipe insulation in this gap?

I tried that and only got a small improvement which pointed me to take it a step further.
