Hi All. Getting ready to install Kicker Key 500.1 in the rear cargo area existing subwoofer enclosure. Have PnP wiring harness that will send signal from radio all the way back to this amp. What might be the best way to route the power and signal wires?

I was thinking signal down passenger side and power down driver side?
Does it matter that I have a base 2 door rather than 4 door for any routing changes?

Thank you for any guidance!

Its always a good idea to keep signal wires and power wires running on their own side. Bonus if you have an automatic and can use the clutch grommet on drivers side to run the power wire through. On the PNP harness main connector make sure all the pins are seated. I was having problems with mine and that was the issue, and apparently not uncommon.

Doesn't really matter honestly.

Overall less work if you send the signal down the same side of the vehicle as the power wire. But nothing wrong with splitting it up if you want (that's what I did). A lot of people will tell you to split up the power and signal wire to avoid interference issues, but we're dealing with DC current here so the interference should be a non-factor.

Great thanks for the advice! And I assume ok to run wires behind rear seats from driver to passenger side as needed just like the video for a 4 door?

It's your preference, I just routed everything down the passenger side and across to driver under the dash. This meant no driver panel removal at all.

But the rear cargo mat cover area has to come out anyway to access the sub under the rear interior passenger side panel, so it's kind of a wash in terms of effort.

I ran power In wire loom from battery down to frame and up through grommet in floor near the sub. Signal wires were already at the plug for factory amp .
