Love this thing. I can really tell the difference. Throttle response is great. Performance is awesome. No more double honk. No more engine auto start/stop. Got close enough to my tire size ( 38” Nittos) that now I’m only one MPH off at 70-75 MPH. Very easy to install and setup.

Glad to hear! What year is your 2.7? I'm somewhat reluctant to take the plunge after reading a few posts from people that had issues with thier unit. Tune will probably be the last performance install I do (after the intercooler, pipes, intake, BOV, and plugs get here).

@Texguy What issues have you heard? I love mine, but it almost seems like the Bronco is "learning" that it's there. It doesn't seem to have the same punch it did when I installed it.

Love mine, the throttle sensitivity settings plus the added power levels is great. Plus the no honk and light settings.

My only gripe is the little remote thing is worthless (never connects) and the app is super buggy on both my Android and iphone, constantly telling me to update, failed to update, then it maybe connects sometimes and you can use it.

For everyone running the Superchips Pulsar XT are you always running 91+? Is it required? For power levels 1 & 2 is it required? I’m looking for increased economy and pedal sensitivity for the majority of the time. However, for major off trips I’ll put either E-free 89 (Hawaii) or 91 in and jack it up.
thoughts?

Your gripe is the same as mine. The remote is useless and while I can get the app to connect, it takes a bit. Other than that, love it. Especially the throttle sensitivity combined with increased power.

I've only run 91 in mine (93 is almost non-existent where I live). But with 112 lb 37s I get basically the same mileage I did with the stock 35s.

Always run 91+ no ethanol fuel since installing the Pulsar. Getting better mileage than stock tune with 87 ethanol fuel, 50-60 more miles a tank.

Hi, great thread as doing research now on which tune to pickup, although leaning toward JB4 due to all the different maps you can use with the different fuel options. Which brings up my question to you and/or others with the same issue. Where I live (Charlotte, NC) and just about everywhere within several hundred miles, I can buy 93 octane at every pump. Thus I actually put 93 in it regularly just for that extra bump. Your comment about lack of premium reminded me of a couple of drives to Iowa where I noticed the further west I got, the harder premium was to find, which became a problem since the car I had at the time (BMW) actually recommends 93, especially since it too was tuned. Anyway, I am curious why Premium fuel is so hard to find out west and what you all do to get around it. Hate to say it but it sounds like bad politics to me.

I always use the phone app. It works great.

It really doesn't have anything to do with politics and everything to do with elevation. I live at almost 6000 feet, and the air is so much thinner that it effectively richens the AFR and deters preignition, so higher octane levels are not really needed. Turbos help claw back some of the loss, but with less oxygen density you're just not going to make the same power as you would at sea level.

Interesting. Yeah I had no idea. Part of me thought it was partially due to ethanol and the use of corn from the Midwest for fuel. Good to know!
