LOL - This ^.
95% of this forum and the jeep forums are having slap fights in the mall parking lot as to who is cooler...
The irony is that the enthusiasts NEED these people to buy the Jeep and Bronco to go to the mall or the manufacturers wouldn't make them anymore.

Same here - Every Wrangler here in Vegas is completely "bro-ed out" with the drivers of believing they're the "coolest" on the road. Reality check - everyone has a Wrangler and customizes it, so congrats on being trendy. So glad Broncos exist to take the thunder from.
Are you sure you're glad?

The mall crawler types buy Jeeps because of the name and perceived nostalgia. If you let them drive a Bronco and a Jeep, a number would still pick Jeeps. There's a reason they're not driving a CRV or Altima to begin with (whatever that reason is).

If I only had to pick one, it'd be tough. The Bronco is a more comfortable interior with better road manners. Jeeps just have something though that's hard to put your finger on. I think if Broncos in the current iteration(s) stick around they can get there too, but they were on hiatus too long and lost that spark for a lot of people.

They haven't had an opportunity to buy Broncos like this in the past. Jeeps are now seen as old and the Bronco is seen as the new hip. They think they are too cool for a CRV but in reality they would want a Jeep with the driving manners of a CRV... so... a Bronco.

To clarify before I start I think the bronco is an excellent vehicle and I have been looking for one for 2 years now but as of January 2023 Jeep is much cheaper.

Right off the bat the dealer markups put the bronco on par with the msrp of the equivalent wranglers but the jeep dealerships are already offering prices below list and additional discount incentives. One incentive I have seen was an offer of $12000 off the list price if you place a factory order through this dealer. I love the bronco but I dont think it is worth $12000 more than a Jeep. Even if i get a bronco at list price i could still save $7000 with a wrangler. Can anyone help me justify the pricing of a bronco over a wrangler?
I'm not sure which trim we're talking about, but $12,000 off MSRP on a Wrangler sounds like a fantastic deal.

We shall see how it plays out once Ford can catch up. It will be interesting to see where things go with that. You could be correct, but I'm betting a decent number of them still stick with Jeep and not make the switch because it's now what they know and they're buying into the Jeep military history.

Either way, it's is definitely true that Jeep and Ford depend on those types to keep the brand alive. I hated JKUs when they came on the scene, but those really kept Jeep alive and kicking.

It's easy to forget that the number of Jeeps and Broncos that will even see dirt is minuscule. The vast majority are not "enthusiasts" and are not swayed by the cache of "Jeep" or "Bronco". Any of those people driving them side by side would never pick the Jeep.
I'd argue that image is even more important to most of those people. They're already compromising to get that image when a Camry probably makes more sense, a little worse ride isn't a deal breaker.

I can.

What are you buying the Bronco for? If you're buying it to wheel - you would want to be in a Rubicon trim with the 35" tire package which is going to put you at $53k and that has no options on it.

A Base Sasquatch 4-door is $44k.

If you're not buying the Bronco to wheel - why would you buy something so uncomfortable?

Availability doesn't equal affordability.
Base Squatch is a heck of a deal. But, if Ford can't build them, it's moot.

$12,000 off at any dealer in the DMV is saying if you qualified for every possible discount and rebate available... Like a Miliary Discount, or a Penn Fed financing discount.... Nobody qualifies for all of the discounts, because some of them will be mutually exclusive, You'll see discounts for Both First Time Chrysler buyers, and Loyalty Discounts for prior Jeep owners, you can't be both.

You can't compare a Jeep Price or a Bronco Price until you get the final out the door price for each.

Slaughtered is a bit strong. Jeep has that brand mystique like Harley where they can put out anything and the masses will gobble it up for the image. That kind of illogical buying is hard to overcome.
Oh yes, that lifestyle brand cult bullshit. Makes me want to vomit.

not sure where you're seeing these sort of deals, but it honestly sounds like you already made your mind up and this post was pointless /shrug
Not pointless, informative. For those of you that are willing to pay these markup prices, more power to you. This is a good point to let folks know what's going on. I like a lot of the features on the Bronco, they are much better then the Jeep. For my, and I tend to believe most of the buyers of Broncos the Jeep would get them to the same places for a lot less money. Why would you pay $40K above MSRP for a Bronco?
