I have been researching option for mounting an on board ARB single brushless compressor. The engine compartment is my preference. I have found a mount that I like offered by JCR Off-Road. It looks like it meets my needs but I would like information from anyone that has some experience with it. It looks good but I would like more input than its looks.

The mounting holes are made for the the ARB brush style compressors. So, I would need to make my own compressor mounting holes, but that is not a big deal.

Anyone have any positive or negative insights for me?

Is this based on experience with it or an opinion based on what you see? I can't tell from looking at it how solid it is. That is why I am seeking advice.

I watched the installation video and can't say it is all that easy to install because you have to go through the right wheel well to install the lower bracket. I like the way it attaches without having to make new holes. It also has more attachment points than others I have seen. That should make it more solid if the structure itself it sound.

One thing I like about it is; it does not mount to one of the strut bolts. Mounting to something that is bound to have some flex (even minute) gives me some concerns. I do have some concerns with the JCR compressor mount in that it could have some flex in the mount structure itself. A least it is totally mounted to the body.

Tons of variations of the same basic style of compressor mount, but from a bang-for-the buck perspective if you cannot fabricate one yourself it's nearly impossible to beat Barnes:

I do have the capability to fabricate my own compressor mount but it is fairly complex and would take a long time. That is why I am looking at prefabricated compressor mounts. I have looked at the Barnes mount and don't like how many pieces in it. I prefer not to have so many unwelded joints to deal with.

The JCR mount has two main parts of the structure and all the attachment points are to the body. I am not sure where the bottom attachment is on the Barnes but others I have seen attach to one of the strut bolts. That does not seem ideal to me.

I have had one in use with my ARB twin compressor for about 3 years now with no issues. I had to trim it a bit when I upgraded my intake to the Injen. Install wasnt terrible either.

Thank you MJ12, that is exactly the kind of information I am looking for. An ARB single being lighter should make it easier on the mount.

The install doesn't look difficult. I just don't like removing the wheel well liner. Their is always a risk of breaking those plastic fasteners. I will probably remove the tire also to give myself more room to work with.

You just need to pull it back at the rear. I installed my mount (ARB) without removing the front wheel. The installs are similar. Removing it definitely gives you more room.

The fasteners aren't that expensive. Just have a few extras before you start.

Our kit is on sale right now. 15% off with coupon code BLACKFRIDAY

We were actually the first to market with the mount, which is why that one resembles ours. We have a patent pending design on ours AND we make ours out of stainless steel here in the USA. So you really get a high quality kit.

Our kit is also the easiest onboard kit to install.

Check it out here. Our kit also works with the new Brushless air compressors

I’ve got the JCR mount with an ARB brushless dual. Very happy with it. Getting the nut plate on the firewall aligned was a pain. And I found out today it fits with the S&B intake.

Thanks for the positive information. I bought the JCR mount but have not installed it yet. The experience with JCR during the purchase was excellent.
