Is Mid Package a must for a daily driver?

Oh and for those with a wife that can't drive a stick (mine can't). If the vehicle is compelling, and you are willing, they'll learn to drive it. The bronco has reportedly an easy-shifting transmission, it will auto start if you kill it and some other features that make driving a manual much easier. Heck, get a manual bronco and I bet, if they keep making the manual available, you could set up a small side hustle teaching people to drive a manual on the weekends.

THIS! My BD Bronco is the first Manual I’ve ever owned. I’ve driven a stick a handful of times, but it had been a while when I picked up my bronco. It’s much easier to drive than some of the old subarus I learned on.

Honestly, the auto start-stop feature is a godsend for the manual transmission. If you stall it, all you have to do is push the clutch in and it immediately starts back up. No freaking out having to turn the key and all that while people are honking at you at a light. When I first got it, I stalled a few times (as anyone would) and I was very surprised at how easy and quick it is to get it back going.

It’s really not that difficult to learn to drive stick, especially in a new car. And it makes driving 1000x more fun!

I have a base squatch and have been daily driving it for two months and 5200 miles. The standard package is all you need. Here are my observations:

-Carplay is awesome. It wirelessly connects everytime I start up.
-Google maps and Spotify are seamless.
-OnX iphone app is great for off-road maps.
-Remote start works great from the iPhone app.
-keyless entry works great from the iPhone app.
-Ability to remotely lock doors via iPhone is incredible. Do it often before locking up at night before bed. I don't have to go outside to make sure its locked.
-The vehicle is too small for dual zone climate control to make a difference.
-Backup camera works great and has the guide-lines that move as you turn even though Ford said that doesn’t come on standard package.
-I have hated blis in the rental cars I’ve used, I’m glad to not have it on my Bronco.
-Autodim headlights are nice but took some getting used to. (yes they are included in standard package)
-collision assist and automatic braking are included in the base package. Not sure I want it because I did have it activate in a heavy rain. I think the sensor was tricked by the heavy down pour.
-the 8" screen is plenty
-everyone complains about the audio quality even the upgraded B&O system. I don't find it too bad but will be upgrading the speakers soon.

Thank you, I'm now even more convinced that my BaseSquatch order is the way to go.

Badlands is out of my budget so I have to downgrade to Black Diamond but manual is a must.

I can't get Mid Package AND Manual with Black Diamond so I have no choice but to go with the standard package.

I like the comfort creatures but I don't know if I should go ahead and order BD with the standard package.

Anyone here with the standard package daily their Bronco? Any regrets? Also, does CarPlay work with the standard package?

I don't think so I have a base as a daily driver it has everything I need. I have been driving it since December, it has plenty of bells and whistles.

I'm coming from a 2002 F-150. My Basesasquatch has more luxury than I'm use to have on my daily driver.

The only thing I whish to have is the keyless entry. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with my choice.

What I'm trying to say, this is going to depend of what you are use to have on your everyday. If you current vehicle has confort creature features. I will highly recommend to keep at least the current ones you already have. It's probably you're going to miss them even with the Bronco.

Are you referring to keyless entry pad when you say you wish you had keyless entry ?

I daily my big bend and do not have the mid package. The one thing I do wish that I had is the keyless entry. However my previous vehicle was a 2008 Ranger so I cannot complain and still absolutley love it

Fordpass app and you will have remote start as far as I know. I know its not a fob but its a close second!

I'm referring to Intelligent Access. My bad.

This is the one that will unlock the door with just touching the door handle.

Sucks that Ford won’t give mid with manual on BD. One of the reasons I went with BL. I’ve got to say that I drove the manual at an off-road event and it is super smooth and very easy to drive. I would vote manual over mid package if needed - manual is so sweet. If your on the fence between manual and auto I suggest a test drive.

Additionally, I have been taking my baby off-road, and in water. Less electronics, the better is my theory. 3,000 miles in and LOVING it.

There was nothing at the higher end I was that interested in other than the front camera - which was not worth the thousands extra plus having to get a bunch of beeps and whistles with it.

I, too. Have a standard package, what I miss most is the intelligent access / smart key. If I could buy new handles and fob and install, I absolutely would. But aside from that, I really don’t miss anything.

I went 4 dr, Big Bend, Mid-pack, trailer, MIC, Aux, rear locker and auto.

I stopped caring about driving a stick a long time ago. If I was buying another sports car sure. But the auto is better suited to the bronco's purpose and I get remote start.

I am bummed for you. I was in your boat, didn't want the BL but had to have MID and manual. So I bit the bullet and upgraded to BL.

I will NEVER use the off road capabilities of the BL, but I love the manual and I love the heated seats. I actually ended up also adding HIGH and like the large touchscreen and the side lights.

Glad you have a budget and aren't over-extending yourself that is great self-restraint!

I see absolutely nothing on the mid package I would ever want for a daily driver.

It's mostly a bunch of Nanny crap, plus automatic dual zone HVAC, and I vastly prefer manual HVAC controls.

Then again I am in Phoenix, so my HVAC control is Max A/C all the way. But every time I have had a rental with it I hated it.

I also prefer to manually dim my headlamps and rear-view mirror.

Now if remote start were available (on the stick) as part of the package, that would be interesting. Also ventelated seats. But, as is, there is nothing I want, and plenty I hate on it.
