I recently invested in a 4” lift with new suspension, tires, and wheels and realized I should get the upgrades covered, but when researching more, it sounds like notifying my insurance carrier (Geico) may actually cause issues or void my insurance policy all together.

Has anyone successfully insured similar mods on their Bronco? If so, which carrier do you use?

Would it make more sense to check with other insurers first before bringing this up to Geico?

Not sure I've heard of anyone insuring a lift. IMO best to take a chance on the lift failing and take that hit IF it ever happens. I can't imagine what the cost would be if they agreed to insure. What's your use case?

I am in the insurance business. You do not have to advise your carrier, My Bronco is lifted 4". The car is covered for its original value....

I'm currently with Progressive, and all I do is give them a number for the "aftermarket" modifications. Don't have to tell them beforehand what they are.

So it breaks down something like: $2,000 (for parts), when in reality that consists of Headlights ($1100), Bumper ($500), Winch ($300), pod lights ($100).

The above is how mine reads, but not all insurance companies work the same. Some may cause issues (more likely with your warranty if you have one still), but most just inflate the value of the vehicle by a (likely pro-rated) stated cost of aftermarket parts.

Allstate and statefarm tried selling me an upgrades policy. Think $2k was $5 a month and $5k was $10-15
