Ok guys i broke my factory soft top (dropped while taking it off lol), and through Gods grace, some lady got a hard top and gave me her soft top (its factroy btw). I want to put it on, but i kinda want a professional to do it. Some of the quotes seem so high for something I could do myself. Like Galpin Auto Sports wanted to charge me 1,000. I got another qoute for $400 and another for $500. The new one is in my trunk. What do you guys think? Should I just put it on myself?

Is the issue that you don't know how to put it on or just that it's too heavy/large/awkward to do by yourself?

If you're confident in how it should be installed, or have instructions, and just need extra hands - Do you have a friend that can help? Or hire a 'handyman' from someplace like Thumbtack for way less than your cheapest quote.

But yeah, if paying an actual service shop to do it, minimum of 1 hr labor, 2 man job...$500 is on the high end but not totally unreasonable.

Honestly, I looked at YouTube, and it doesn't look tough. I'm probably going to have a friend help me.

You should save the cash and do it yourself. Most of the install is already done since you aren't converting anything over. All your soft top stuff is already installed on yours. Just take the old one off and put the new one on.

May have to tweak the alignment a bit for the new top but that isn’t hard

Hard part is just getting it on and off - if you have help with that: it may take a few rounds to tweak - then you are golden

Two people, six bolts, should not take any longer than 30 min. And that’s being generous.
