I'm surprised you don't notice much difference, the Injen is pretty noticeable in noise, like a heavy inhale when you're on it. I can't tell you if it makes any difference in the power but I feel like the injen in my BMW did so I don't doubt that it did in the bronco too, it's just not as noticable.
I can't tell if the underside is exposed. If so, it would be louder than mine.
Its opening is also larger too.

AFE's opening is smaller. Though I think if I take the see-thru cover off it would be louder.
I might do that in the winter. Now I won't. I would loose power since the engine bay air is hotter.

Also could be the Lux fake audio is overpowering the intake noise.
It does pump fake engine noise whenever I accelerating.

On the other hand, my Audi S4 has exposed ECS intake cone. It is very noticeable.

The Injen definitely has some sound to it. I can hear my turbos spooling. Also as it was said, you can hear the Injeni sucking in air. The other part of the K&N I did not like, was the top lid. Its has a grill that is covered with Foam. I was not sure of that design, I wanted a fully closed lid.

One thing that brought a smile was when I was at Cars n Coffee in Miami, a group of girls and guys came over to the Bronco section. I was about to leave and complimented my Bronco. The guy said "Oh you like big cars and trucks huh?" "The problem is they are slow." So I hit the rev and the very loud wooosh and pshhhhhhh came out. Haha, the group jump back, totally surprised. The guy said "well dam! I did not expect that!" I said I was ready to drive off, yeah I like em with a little sumthin sumthin.

Got a good laugh from that. As I drove away, I heard one of them say, well that's not stock, I bet he can surprise a few people. He is right, on both counts.

Great write up, I installed mine a 4,000 miles ago and after resetting the MPG calculator I'm getting 19 mpg with the 2.7 and sasquatch.

In my experience with turbo engines: these are almost never needed. Until someone does a back to back dyno I’ll hold onto my $$.

CAI are the biggest scam ever. Banks does very good hype and marketing on theirs, Dyno results are not impressive. I imagine this is the same.

Unless you are increasing power, the extra air is pointless.

maybe hear some turbo noise?

But what is it hand calculated?

Engine power is derived by the engine breathing easier. More air = better efficiency. That = better power. CAI helps with that along with other mods. You can believe they do not do anything or are a scam, sure its your opinion. The same is said about catch cans. Again, opinions differ.

All mods are made to support or enhance a vehicle. because its a Bronco, this does not change. In the end, its a 2.7 twin turbo. Anything that helps with turbo efficiency will help make more power.

You cant drive more efficiency or power with a CAI alone - you would need to tune the engine so that it can use that added air flow effectively. Right now your engine is tuned to the factory intake. Which is probably just as efficient and filters the air better. If you are good with more air and more dirt - go for it.

Your post sounds Like a Banks video.

Hmm its quite obvious in your rush to retort, that you passed right over, "ALONG WITH OTHER MODS" and did not read my sig were I clearly state FORD TUNED. Also not in my sig because I have not updated are the larger charge pipes, down pipe and the exhaust system. Wait the Magnaflow is there..

Oh well, to state, my engine IS NOT TUNED to the factory intake, and when I checked my system, I did not see any dirt. Oh wait, yeah filter covers do exist for that. Who da thunk it?

Put it on a dyno....lets see the "real" gains by the CAI. Factory air intakes are already CAI and more efficient.

Even with filter covers...which are restricting flow....they do not filter like a OEM filter. This isn't my first rodeo between my HellCat and Turbo Diesel truck and tuning. You would be better off getting a real tune and not Fords "canned" tune if you want to see real performance gains...I suspect the CAI you bought isn't doing much even with a "Ford" tune. Which is still tuned for factory parts.

But you do you. I m not here to poop on your parade..just giving you facts,

Aaaaaand between my 68 Mustang, Several 10sec Shelby's and my current Shelby, it is not my first rodeo either. Finally been to a dyno. The sheet says gains. quite a bit of gain from where the stock was. A few adjustments here, a few adjustments there.

Nope not going to post it because then it would be "Oh that's a happy dyno song".

You keep doing you though, and I'll do me.

Any chance you can share the dyno sheet? Curious to see the gains. Thanks!

I installed the Injen CAI last night in my Badlands 2.7L and immediately got a check engine / SES light. So I bought an OBD scanner and the code it spit off was P1299. I’ve double checked all the hose clamps, CCV tube connection, and the other two connectors next to that and everything looks totally in check. Really frustrating and now planning to take it into the dealer tomorrow morning.

has anyone else experienced or heard of this issue?? this was an extremely frustrating install and frankly, it is very defeating to have this result when it’s all said and done!
