Ice Cream Cone Hold

You walk into busy ice cream place and take a number. After an hour they call your number but tell you they ran out of cones for the 1-2:00PM group and you’ll have to go to the waiting room indefinitely until they get more cones. Meanwhile they keep serving customers to keep the line moving.

Who does business like this? Ford does!!!!

When they told me they were short on cones, they asked me if I would prefer a cup instead. I would get my ice cream quicker, and in fact it would be a little bit cheaper, too. So I said sure.

Turns out, my ice cream is delicious, and it's actually more convenient to have the cup instead of the cone!

When the ice cream parlor runs out of cones they serve it in a cup. When they run out of cups they close the window.

So you want Ford to give you a what instead of the cone? A Ranger? Similar innards, just a different cone.

Most complicated production facilities work that way. Letting millions of dollars worth of equipment and man-hours sit idle is a huge economic loss.

Am I happy I had to wait 618 days, no. Do I think Ford made a bunch of mistakes, yes. Do I think they should have shut down production to wait for a FIFO order process, no.

This post is idiotic. Imagine working at a pizza place and running out of salami. By your logic, they should completely stop making pizzas instead of making the ones without salami or asking the customer to pick other toppings (lul bronco "toppings") or wait for what they want.
