Hi, guys.

I installed the IAG speaker pod (exactly like the Mabett one, as far as I can tell) on my 2-door Bronco. Did I install this thing correctly? I couldn't use the spacer because it was too long, and the screw wouldn't go through it and still get a grip into the Bronco. It is in there sturdy, but it doesn't look great and I feel like I could have screwed this up. If it's screw-upable, I'm the guy to do it.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong here?

try loosening the bolts (all 4 - don't remove them, just get them good and loose) on the top bracket up a bit and see if you can get it to jiggle in place.

It doesn't look bad, but does look like it's just a bit off kilter and not quite lined up with the guide pins (the top one you have circled, and the top post in the bottom circle)

I have a 2 door as well. This is what mine look like. I believe they come with those black round spacers. I'm pretty sure I also cut off those metal insert tabs on the top. It's been a while since I did it.

Here's another thread from a 2 door owner. You will see he left the metal
Bracket up top. I pulled that off and cut the tab off.

The drivers side is pretty straight but the passenger is a bit crooked on mine. I need to play with it again to get aligned a little better.

How did you get that spacer to fit? There's no room for the screw to catch any threading with that in there. Did you cut the spacer?

Thanks, Brian. I will give that a shot. I already broke off that bottom one... by accident, when I was putting the bottom screw in. In real life, the pins seem to be in the right position for the hole, I'm just surprised by that big gap. And the spacer not fitting in there was the icing on the cake for this (attempted) install.

I may have grabbed a longer screw from Ace Hardware

There was a separate section or an addendum to the instructions for the two door

I just installed Hertz C165 midranges in the IAG pods. The pods, in my opinion, are junk. First, they’re like Swiss cheese, having holes below where the grill cover clips attach and no rubber grommet for the wire pass through. I put sound deadener inside everywhere I could. Bad vibration no matter what I did. What speakers are you guys running that you’re happy with these pods?
