Hey Guys - Well I put down a deposit on a new 4Runner Hybrid TRD that should be delivered 5/17. I will still have my Bronco but will be able to really test the 2 side by side. Price wise the MSRP was about $3k more than our 2 dr BD with very similar options/build but only got $2k off the Toyota compared to $7k on the Ford. More to come....

Haha just playing. Congrats on the new vehicle. Least you still have the Bronco for the fun stuff.
Oh and I’m interested in how the removable tops compare. 😉

That would be a lot of cutting that WON'T be done!!! Ya we'll see the wife has a '23 so it will be interesting to see how Toyota has stepped up IF they have.

Since your not using a can opener on the roof save us how much quieter the cab sound level is 😁👍
They look sharp, I’m sure you both will enjoy it.

Just curious; did you drive a hybrid 4Runner or Tacoma before going for it?

I drove that powertrain in the LC250 last year and it just didn't do it for me. I was honestly leaning towards chasing a 2025 Trailhunter before that test drive (and then got sucked into the Raptor world).

I think driving my EV6 GT back to back to my 2020 4Runner may have given me a slight "need for speed" however ;).

Who cares!!
Considering you read the topic in the "Ford vs Competition" section which is exactly where you would expect a thread like this and clicked, I would say you and everyone else that did the same. The guy still has his Bronco so it's not like he's dissing your beloved Ford.

Yes my nephew bought a Tacoma last year and it has leaps and bounds of power over our '23 4Runner. I drove the LC and agree it was a little underwhelming but still better than the '23 by a lot. For the money it's a great deal compared to the LC or Sequoia and my wife didn't want either of those as she thinks they're too big.

Fair enough; I do think the powertrain is a huge step forward from the 4.0L in the 5th generation 4Runner. When I drove a LC I found the power delivery very impressive up till about 40 mph, but then found stuff to get kind fo anemic as you wound it out. It made me quesiton my sanity on how a vehicle with 326 hp and 465 (!) lb/ft of torque could feel that way, but I guess it's just so biased to power when the hybrid motors are assisting.

I do wonder if the 4Runner will be a bit more enjoyable to drive as I think it has a several hundred pound advantage on the LC in weight also.

Enjoy it (once you get it). Nothing wrong with 4Runners at all and hopefully the 2025 ends up pretty reliable having been built in Tahara.
