From what I understand, you have to go to the dealer. However, if you have 2 FOBs, you can program a 3rd yourself. So once you get this resolved, get a 3rd FOB so that if you ever lose one, you can program another.

Also, this is a good reminder to me - I've been meaning to get a 3rd FOB for awhile now, think I'll order one today.

Dealer can help....but recommend trusted local locksmith for better price and care.

I purchased two additional programmed fobs from local quality locksmith,
saved some cash from dealer'$ quote.

Thanks, two would seem the norm but you never know so just asking. And we WILL get two from our dealer at delivery. Hopefully in a few days as it shows shipped on 6-4-23

For the benefit of future Google visitors....

The first TWO key fobs must be programmed by a licensed locksmith or your dealer.

The third and forth key fob can be programmed by you in your driveway—instructions in the manual.

Why the restriction? It's to prevent someone from "temporarily borrowing" (stealing) your key fob and use it to program a bunch of spare keys without you knowing. The third and forth key fob doesn't have that restriction, because if you already have access to both admin key fobs it is highly likely you are the owner of the vehicle.

Once programmed to a particular vehicle, can they be re-programmed to a different one?

For those of you that are here because of a Google search...

If you have two programed key fobs, follow these steps to program additional fobs. Max of 4 programed fobs to the vehicle. Start with all doors closed and the vehicle in the off position.

1. Place the first programmed remote in the backup slot inside the center console. With your foot off the brake pedal, press and release the push button ignition switch.
Wait five seconds and then press and release the push button ignition switch again.
Remove the remote control.

2. Within 10 seconds, place a second programmed remote control in the backup slot. Press and release the push button ignition switch.
Wait five seconds and then press and release the push button ignition switch again. (Keep the ignition on for at least 5 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.)

3. Remove the remote control. Place the unprogrammed remote control in the backup slot and press and release the push button ignition switch.

Programming is now complete, the vehicle will notify you of the additional key fob programming. With your foot on the brake pedal, press the push button ignition switch to verify the remote control functions operate and your vehicle starts with the new remote control.
If programming was not successful, turn the vehicle to off, wait 1 minute and repeat Steps 1 through 3.

I've noticed, there's a sub-cult here that gets off on posting things like this--and on reacting to them with "like", if not an entire comment agreeing with it.
It's not just here. It's just a humorous way to point out that the post I replied to resurrected a dead thread, and with a post that didn't even answer the question from the OP...
