Well since the post arose from the dead….might as well put it to work. Can anyone point me to a good keyfob on Amazon that works correctly so I can put my good ones away? Or do I need to buy a ford fob?

I bought a Ford key (it's not a fob, it's the key!), OEM, off Ebay for $60. It's not like this is rocket science.

For those of you that are here because of a Google search...

If you have two programed key fobs, follow these steps to program additional fobs. Max of 4 programed fobs to the vehicle. Start with all doors closed and the vehicle in the off position.
This is the procedure in the Owner's Manual p72. Unfortunately it does NOT work. I tried this on two different remotes and couldn't get either one to program. Figuring they both couldn't be bad, on a whim, I tried the procedure for my wife's Bronco Sport. The fob programmed on the first try

Here is the Bronco Sport Procedure:
1. Place the first programmed remote in the backup slot inside the center console. With your foot off the brake pedal, press and release the push button ignition switch.

2. Wait five seconds and then press and release the push button ignition switch again.

3. Remove the first remote control.

4. Within 10 seconds, place a second programmed remote control in the backup slot. Press and release the push button ignition switch.

5. Wait five seconds and then press and release the push button ignition switch again. (Keep the ignition on for at least 5 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.)

6. Remove the remote control.

7. Place the unprogrammed remote control in the backup slot and press and release the push button ignition switch.

5. Wait five seconds and then press and release the push button ignition switch again.

6. Remove the second remote control.

7. Place the unprogrammed remote control in the backup slot. Press and hold the start button until the horn chirps and the hazard lights flash.

Programming is now complete, the vehicle will notify you of the additional key fob programming. With your foot on the brake pedal, press the push button ignition switch to verify the remote control functions operate and your vehicle starts with the new remote control.
If programming was not successful, turn the vehicle to off, wait 1 minute and repeat Steps 1 through 3.
