HOSS 2.0 Shock Upgrade (is there such a thing?)

I was looking at the Bronco the other day and thinking of other things to do to it (after a few drinks of course) and said to myself, wonder if I could upgrade just the 2.0 shocks? I have the 4" Maxlider lift with 37's. There isn't anything wrong with the factory 2.0's but was wondering if there are any upgraded ones without completely breaking the bank? I think I saw Icon had something for crazy money but can't find anything anywhere else other than new shocks/struts that are for lifting (2.5 etc.) that I don't need since I am already lifted. Anyone upgrade just the shocks with their lift? Is it worth it?

Many have gone with Bilstein 6100s

You could look into The 6100s like posted above, not sure if Bilstien would recommend using them with spacer lift. You can adjust the clips on the bottom spring perches, similair to a perch collar lift to get back some height.

The other options are HOSS 3.0 FOX shocks off of 23 wildrak, or order from ford parts. Shocks and springs are in the $$2300 - $2500 dollar range plus Perch collar lift 2-3 inches? ( take offs from someone would be less, but most are keeping them and doing Perch collar lifts)

Others on here have gone to Eibach Stage 2 coil overs, which are less than $2k...but you wouldn't reuse the HOSS 2.0

Other than those other option is Aftermarket Coil over systems$4k and up....

I’m not sure what you consider crazy money, but Icon does have a Hoss 2.0 specific upgrade that will do between 0-2” of lift. I can’t convince myself to spend the $5500 for turned coilovers so I’ve been eyeing these.

If I understand you correctly, you want to keep your stock springs and just replace the shocks while still using the 4 inch spacer lift? Which shocks exactly do you have?

Almost any of the 2.0 and all the 2.5 shocks would be an upgrade over the Hitachis. I wouldn't replace the factory Bilsteins with any 2.0, but most of the 2.5s should be better. Not sure how many are designed to retain factory springs. The Icon 2.5 and Bilstein 5100 & 6100 are the only ones I know that retain factory springs. I'm sure there are others.

The biggest problem is figuring out if they are compatible with the spacer lift that you have and want to keep.

Have you wheeled your rig as it is and found a limit? I've sent my factory badlands 2 door on 33s on decent trails and had no issues. So many people chase upgrades without even testing the stock capabilities. Why mess with it until you know you need it? Just my two cents.

He's already got a 4 inch lift and 37s, so I think that ship has sailed.

Fair, I was just curious if he found a limit or not. I see plenty of people on 35s and 37s who have never wheeled, so I thought it's a fair question. If he did hit the limit then that's badass.
