New Member but have loved reading this site from the beginning!

Few things:
Ordered 11/2/21
Wildtrak, Lux, Hitch, Hardtop, Leather, Shadow Black

Literally had a call with my dealer on Wed 9/8 about next steps in re-ordering a 2023 and I got the email from Ford about going into production for a 2022!! WTF
The email states I'm scheduled to go into production the week of 10/17 with a VIN.

My questions to the community:
1. Do we know the exact cutoff date for 2022's? It seems like I am at the end and what are the odds this will actually be built on-time?
2. I'm super excited however since we are close to the end of the model year, would it be more advantageous to get an early 2023 or does it not matter much?
3. I fell in love with Eruption Green when I recently saw one on the road, I asked my dealer about changing the color. Does anyone have experience with making this happen when a VIN has been issued recently?

Thanks and btw I have a distillery in the Hudson Valley NY so you are all invited if your in the area to come hang out and try some amazing booze. Can't wait to have a Bronco event next year for everyone too!!!

I’ll leave your questions for those more knowledgeable… but I will say welcome and congratulations.

Once you have a VIN there is no delaying it for MY23. Last year we saw MY21 production extend a couple of weeks and I would expect the same this year.

As far as a color change, dealers rep can do it before a window sticker is issued if they are willing but tend to only do so if the dealer screwed something up.

On my first build, that I was not able to take delivery of, I was able to change the color when I had a VIN. I think Ford's system limits when the changes can happen, so it can be random.

What he said! My dealer was afraid to make changes (April, 2021) because he didn't want to risk delaying the order, or otherwise jeopardizing it! Because of that, we never tried to add back the roof rack we'd forgotten!

1 - If you have a VIN, you will get a model year 2022 vehicle. By Federal Law, that has to be built before Jan 1. So it will be built this year. MY23 builds are supposed to start on 31 Oct, but Ford can push that changover out as long as they don't actually go into the next year.

2 - There is no advantage to a MY23. If you didn't have a reservation before 19 March 2021, you don't have price protection. So an MY23 will probably cost $4k more than you are paying for your MY22 (mid year price increase plus MY23 price increase). Also, we don't know what features Ford is going to remove from the 23 models. They certainly are not going to ADD anything.

3 - Your dealer should be able to change the color. Lots of folks have changed their color after getting a schedule week.

Thanks all for the help!

I was just notified by my dealer that my color has been changed to Eruption Green and was pretty easy from what they told me.

Thanks and very good point about the price increase. I also read that Ford is removing the Sound Deadening on the hard top so I'm glad to be on the my22 list!
