Long story short. I have 2 Broncos on res (Day 2 res holder). One for me and one for my dad as a surprise. I got tired of waiting on mine but kept the res just in case. I received my MY22 D90 last Tuesday. Yesterday I get a pic/e-mail that my Bronco is ready after zero updates for a couple of months. Unfortunately my dad's is still pending. I was hoping my dad's would be done first, but nope. Also, I cannot give him this one to my dad bc I got him CO (he loves him some orange cars).

So now I have this Bronco that I can abandon and watch the dealer mark-up 15k OR I can buy it and flip it.

I want to flip it to someone (already have someone lined up. He is an acquaintance. So while I know him I dont know him THAT well) with a balance of it being worth my time while not ripping him off.

Just tossing a # out there...... For it to be worth my while of getting a loan and assuming the risk if the buyer backs out, plus having to pay tax on the profit I would make, I was thinking 5k to 7,500. But even throwing that # out there makes me feel like an ass. In the end I still need to get something for the "trouble".

Really wish I could simply have him come to the dealer and buy it from them at MSRP but the dealer already told me they wont allow it since they would mark it up 15k.

Thoughts? Is 5k too much?

Average markup on any vehicle here in Hawaii is 3K-7K. If it's something people want then 15K-30K.

My recommendation would be whatever number that has you walking away with 5K in your pocket. That is fair to a friend. He then could sell it for a 5K profit and it's win win... or he can keep it. I'd pay 5K without even thinking 😂

Negotiate a better price for your dad's Bronco by telling the dealer he can keep yours. I'll be you can get at least invoice pricing for your dad's. And with no hassle other than getting the dealer to sign a sales agreement for the CO for your dad.
Def worth a try, but..... I am being petty and trying to keep the dealer of getting 15k for mine. I know, I know.... I care way too much lol

I personally would toss it back to the dealer. It’s not your fault or your responsibility to protect others from their decisions. You want to buy it to pass on to your friend? You still take the credit inquiry hit to your credit score, which takes 1 year to drop off, you still have to pay sales tax, you will still have to insure it for the short time you own it, and there is still a chance your friend could back out.

For what little you want out of it, it wouldn’t be worth it to me.

Honestly, I'd just sell it at cost to me. So basically, Tax, title, license, and any fees associated with the transfer. The profit is knowing that this Bronco got into the right hands.

5 k is fair. 10,000 people will buy it if the acquaintance says no.

Screw the capital gains.. the next buyer WILL pay you for what you got in it. Then your dad mysteriously finds an envelope with 10K (cash) in it, which he saw the bronco buyer drop on his way out the door to never see you again.

Then he, for some crazy reason gives to his favorite son (who ordered him a bronco) the envelope as a gift.

"The gift tax annual exclusion amount per donee has increased to $16,000 for gifts made by an individual, and $32,000 for gifts made by a married couple who agree to "split" their gifts, in 2022."

If you have ever wondered why "CASH IS KING" you now know why ;)

FYI
2 Door Bronco's are hens teeth and are gold.... A Wild Trak makes this deal the most sweet of all. That truck is extremely valuable.

In my opinion this truck would be worth in the ballpark of a fairly priced 4 door First Edition!!!
Just my 2 cents

A fair price is whatever the person buying is willing to pay. I'd start at +10k and hope for +5k once the haggling begins

Benny, I will be your friend and give you 5k for your trouble. I would imagine youd have many friends to comfort you.

I also live in Florida and if you need a buyer to make it easy for you I could pay cash and make the process easy for you. Think of me (or others like me) as your back up plan. But selling to a friend with just enough mark up to make you whole is. Really decent think to do. Kudos to you.

Whatever the bottom line number is on the purchase order, ie MSRP, tax, title and other fees. +$1,000.00 for your time would be a really good price IMO. Work this out with him beforehand so they know what you are willing to charge.

I’d be looking to net $10K off the deal.

I can't imagine actually getting an offer good enough to sell my 2 door, and it's not a Badlands, WildTrak, or First Edition. It doesn't even have the Sasquatch package.

Still, it's pretty awesome, but I would be hard pressed to find anyone who would make an offer that I would jump on... I really do like it a lot.

Threads like this show Ford that the bronco is wayyyyy underpriced …. If theyre smart, theyll jack the prices up 40% in the years to come and theyll still have them on back order.

When you ordered the M90 in September, what was the intent to do with the Bronco?

Sell it for whatever you want to sell it for and don't worry about what a message board thinks.
