While loading up our broncos for our Colorado trip this last August, we noticed some outward flexing on the factory hardtop. (See the attached video)
It was the worst on the side folding tent, the full hard shell tent only did it while being inside the tent.
So before we left, we whipped up some primitive hardtop support brackets. This fixed our issue and our trip went on without any issues.
When we returned, engineering went to work making a production version of our prototype. It’s a fully bolt in part and will work with any rack.
