Hanging the top from the top

I'm considering a half rack mostly to make it easier to connect the straps on my hoist to lift and store the rear top. I want something that is more functional than the OEM style. Wind noise is a concern as well. Has anyone done this? Is it safe to support the roof from the mounts? Is there a way to hang from the top without a half rack?

My garage is an advanced game of Tetris. Looping the straps under the roof is time consuming and I have to be very careful with the back glass especially when reinstalling. I also do not have help when I do this. I may go with the HookRoad version.

I have lifted mine off by Hooke road half rack without any issues. I typically don’t store it that way so I don’t have any experience with storing it by the rack.
