Earlier today, I was driving along when I got the message “USB device not responding” I use Bluetooth for Apple Play and Apple Play was working, so I ignored the message. It came up twice, but that was it.

I noticed later that the phone wasn’t charging. I tried re-plugging both ends with no change.

When I got home, I plugged the cable I had been using in the car to an AC charger and the phone began charging.

I took the cable back to the Bronco and it worked.

Any ideas what’s going on here?

I have the same issue and haven't really spent the time to figure it out. Its annoying for sure but when I am driving my bronco I don't want to talk to anyone anyway.

It was 68° in the Bronco and the phone was in the shade.

I didn’t want to talk to anyone either, but since I was using the phone for Nav, I didn’t want the phone to die.

I'm wondering if a 'reset' of the head unit (ON+FF) would have restored the USB. Sounds like it was reset after powering down the vehicle. It's surprising how many ills are cured by a reset.
