I saw some users like @MattInNash and others talk about getting this working. I already got auto hold and stop and go cruise control working. So, I was wondering if anyone’s figured out the traffic sign recognition on the bronco.

My understanding is that the Signs that show up on the dash are more a component of known mapping (Navigation), rather than a recognition system.

you actually got stop and go working? I haven't seen anything concrete and up about it.

Yes, you can get it working with FORScan. Only two things need to be changed. Here is what I did:

(Disclaimer, I am doing this from memory)

1. Under programming, pull up the Body Control Module (BCM). it will display as "BdyCM". Select the one that doesn't have the "as built format" in the name. If you select the as built, it will show the Hexadecimal codes. You will know you got the right one when you can actually read the settings after you click the play button.

2. Click the play button to enter the edit mode and look for Cruise Control. It will be set to Adaptive Cruise Control if you bought your Bronco with that function.

3. Click the edit button, and from the drop down, select the "Adaptive Cruise Control, Stop & Go" option. Click Write to update the BCM. It will ask if you want to, you do (Caution: Make sure you do save your Bronco's current configuration before you start anything, so you can revert if problems arise).

4. At this point your Bronco will throw some DTCs, the Emergy Brake will engage, your collision assist will de-activate and you will get a traction control system needs service (I don't remember the exact wording), but don't worry about all that right now. A dialog box will pop up telling you to turn off the ignition and turn it back on. Do that.

5. Click the stop button if FORScan did not already do that, and select the ABS module. The only choice will be the As Built format. Select that and click play, the hex codes will be listed.

6. Look for line 760-03-01. My code on this line was listed as "B818 90CB". Change the first "B" to an "F", so it should now read "FXXX XXXX" where the X's are your original code. Mine reads "F818 90CB". Click the write button. Again it will ask you if you want to, yep you do. You may get some alerts on the Bronco's cluster, but ignore them for now and follow the prompt to turn the Bronco Off and On again.

7. Click the stop button to exit edit mode.

8. Click the DTC caution sign to enter DTC mode. You should be showing a few DTCs, go ahead and clear them all and read again to ensure they are cleared. Cycle the ignition again and ensure you are no longer getting any errors.

9. go to your driver assist setup screen on the Bronco and select Cruise control. The screen will look the same, and ensure Adaptive Cruise Control is selected. you should be good to go, but don't trust it until you test and make sure everything is working. I never take it on blind faith that it will all work all the time. Kind of a trust but verify approach.

One other note, I do have the ford performance tune in a 2.7 EcoBoost, and that puts the PCM into an adaptive state. Other's have mentioned that you may need to do a PCM relearn maintenance function in order to have everything work correctly after the BCM and ABS modules are re-written. I did not go down that road and everything works.

Hope that helps someone.

Thanks. Hmmm. I’m fine with forscan. I’m just kind of concerned about the PCM relearn

I thinks it's totally worth trying. I did not use the PCM relearn. worse case, you go and revert those two settings. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck!

I followed the very specific steps on a YouTube video, and it works just like you said...

The only nagging doubt in my mind were the other option in the first step... There were another 3 options that also included stop and go.

I have a lux build and was concerned the bare acc stop&go option, while it worked, may have turned off other subtle blending of features the other options mention.

It's actually really cool to have someone definitively step by step something that, in a forum, can become incredibly fragmented in specifics. Those who succeed often lose interest and stop talking about it, leaving a real patchwork of information that's hard to navigate.

That video is a great example of how a summarizing of a huge thread would be so helpful.

I could really use one for the lane keep, and intelligent speed thread. It became colossal.

Thank you. Lane keeping has not been cracked yet, I am pretty sure and intelligent adaptive cruise control should be part of the video you just sent. I agree that this thread has gotten long and trying to find information is next to impossible, but at least someone asked the admins to update the first post with updated information.

Fingers crossed on lane keeping.

Just for accuracy, the bronco does have lane keeping. (Or can)
It does not have Lane centering, or intelligent cruise control.
I don't believe anyone has had traffic sign recognition working.
I understand there's mythos of someone prior said they have it.
I've seen no proof of this.
I would say the steps for verification would be documentation and repeatability by other individuals. (Specifically talking about intelligent cruise control and traffic signed recognition)
I have Auto hold, and stop and go working.
And they're fabulous!

You are correct. Sorry for my error. Lane centering is what people have been working on and the mythological Ford engineer who "had it working" disappeared before I joined and was referenced in earlier posts. I haven't seen anyone working on it recently, though.

P.S. Lane keeping sometimes tugs me in the wrong direction!

Ya, currently using the 4 option ACC, Stop&Go, but there are more options.

7 - ACC, Stop&Go, Brake Limit 2
9 - ACC, Stop&Go, ACC to CC toggling
17 - ACC, Stop&Go, Brake Limit 2, ACC to CC toggling

Maybe someone can play with these?
