Garmin PowerSwitch

Has anyone who doesn't have the upfitter switches installed a Garmin PowerSwich?
There is a warning to not connect it to a vehicle with a smart charging system.
Would that be the same as the battery management system the Bronco uses?
Mine is a 2025.

I use the Garmin PowerSwitch. Connects to battery just fine. I’ve connected mine to a Genesis smart battery management busbar (dual battery setup) and it works great.

Does it matter if you tie-in to the positive at the battery? Doing so places the draw before any monitoring devices. When deal with accessories, I create a separate circuit. Newer vehicles are so complex its easiest to have standalone power grids

You plug into the OEM battery’s bus bar, just like where the Ford Performance winch goes — there are two unused threaded studs for just this kind of thing.

the more critical battery monitoring is on the negative terminal. You connect there to the open hole on the bracket with a bolt/washer/nut - again just like the way Ford wires in a winch from the factory.

if you do the Blaze Offroad kit, it includes the necessary cables including a ground bus bar to simplify the negative side neatly. That’s on the same bracket you have the PowerSwitch, and has right length cables for how to install it. Very clean.

My main concern was reading the warning on Garmin's site to not connect this to a vehicle with a "smart charging system".
The only answer I could get from Garmin was to have it professionally installed.
