Greetings!
I recently purchased a Heritage Limited Edition in REB. I had paint protection applied on the front (hood, front quarters, A-Pillar) and rockers. When the detailer was applying they noticed some galvanic corrosion. Advised to take it to the dealership and bring it to their attention. Said he has had this happen before and said the mfg usually reimburses/pays for the paint protection film to be re-applied (if needed)
Now, not everything that has paint protection has this issue but it does run on the rockers and some parts of the hood and door.
I brought it to the dealership about a month ago and they said it needed to be repaired and also said that Ford should pay for any of the paint protection that needed to be replaced.
I dropped it off yesterday and brought up the paint protection again and was told that they would have to get the service manager who wouldn’t be back until Monday.
Received call today that they will not reimburse for any paint protection to be re-applied.
Has anyone ran across this before? Do I eat the cost? Bring it to the service manager’s attention? Go to Ford?
Not sure what is “normal” or what the expectation should be.
Thanks for the advice!
