I am looking for some ideas on a mounting location for a small amplifier for my front speakers. I am using an Audio Control ACM-4.300. The dims are 9-1/2"W x 1-3/4"H x 3-1/2"D. I am hoping to find a little spare space under the dash for this. Has anyone done anything like this?

I saw this in one of the many threads regarding audio upgrades!
@buzpro is definitely right, don't rush into it! I'm 8 hours into my project so far and have only the first amp and front 4 speakers done!

Took my time planing out wire runs, carefully removing trim panels, good luck finding a replacement right now if you break off the clips. Thankfully everything came apart fairly easily with an interior trim removal tool.

Had to make two adapter rings for the kick panel speakers because of where the mounting locations are for the factory ones. Easy enough to trace the old hole pattern onto some HDPE and cut out with a jigsaw. Used some foam rings to isolate the kick panels too as it's open to the fender behind. Not enough room for the full foam backer though.

Really easy to access the dash speakers, can basically see all the way to the floorboards with them taken out so no problem wiring. Added some "boom mat" speaker baffles behind them to direct the sound upwards and made a nice difference!

Knew from the beginning I wanted to use the Kicker Key 200.4 for the fronts as it's super compact and efficient. Really easy to set up and mounted perfectly on the crash bar under the steering column. Still get full range of motion on the column too!

Meant to take more pictures of the install process but you get in the zone and just get stuff done!

Will update again with the rear speaker and sub setup!

I have a question maybe ya'll can help me with. I watched a video where a guy actually went to B&O and spoke with one of their engineers about the B&O Bronco system and he went into detail... but one thing I was not clear about... he showed an amp ... it was quite a little-ass amp and it lives apparently right near the rear subwoofer.

So, is that little amp just for the subwoofer, or is that thing powering the entire system? Or is there at least two amps, a "speakers" amp and a "subwoofer" amp?

(and lastly, anyone know the total watts? I Google and get 10 different answers.)

Thanks everyone.

I’m not sure about that cheap amp but, I do know that virtually everyone that opted for the B&O system has described the sound as trash! You would be better served with a custom audio system and save a few bucks along the way!

I mean a subwoofer is typically going to have a tiny dedicated amp. The other speakers will be powered by the main amp / headunit.

I saw someone mounting it on the metal bracket under the steering wheel. It has a plastic cover and they were able to drill holes for mounting.

someone posted a wiring diagram around here before i think

The amp powers the front RH & LH sets of speakers and the DVC (6 channels)
the other speakers are powered by the head unit

Since the Kicker 200 seems to be on national back order, I had considered the ACM 4.300 as well with a PNP harness. It seems like this amp is fairly underrated for power. It appears that it may fit on the steering column plate, but its a little bigger than the Key. Did you get it to fit, and if so, where did you install it?

Anyone figured out where to put an amp too big to conceal behind a rear panel?
