First time attempting to use Forscan, using the OBDLink EX wired. Download Forscan on my laptop and put the license key in for the temporary 2 months free.

When I attempt to connect it does not connect. Clearly I am not doing something correctly, any help is appreciated. I thought about disconnecting the battery but have not yet.

Did you turn your Bronco on? And to clarify, turn it on so that the accessories are on, but the car is not started.

Fair question that I forgot to add in.

Yes, it was on accessory, no engine running

When I initially connect to the OBD Link and it’s found by the computer, I typically need to unplug the usb from the computer and plug it back in when running Forscan. Check that the light is on the OBD plug side when running Forscan and accessory power is on. For some reason my light would always go out unless I unplugged usb and plugged back in giving me the same error.

The light was on the entire time so that was good.

I did disconnect the USB a couple times and plugged it back in no luck. I also restarted the computer and a full shut down.

I appreciate the double check though. It is so easy to miss simple things. Easter and my wife's birthday, no playing with Bronco today which is just fine.

I have no other options than the Kvaser adapter in the drop down menu. I cannot even get it to find the OBDLink in the menu. I am going to uninstall the driver's and see if it will pull the correct adapter in Forscan.

If anyone has any other ideas I am open.
