I connected Forscan to my 2023 Badlands 2.7 today. I wanted to turn off auto start-stop and change a setting on the DRLs. I was using the "easy method". After I had made and wrote those changes, I noticed that the little battery light was glowing on the dash. I disconnected Forscan and shut off and restarted the Bronco. The light stayed on.

I went back in and undid the change to the DRLs. I also cleared DTCs. The light stayed on. I had to drive into town so I did. No change to the light. When I got back home, I connected Forscan again and undid the auto start - stop change. Cleared the DTCs again. The light went out.

I watched several vids and read some threads but have not found anything that explains this. Was I doing something wrong? I noticed later under "Service Functions" that there was a selection "Battery Monitoring System Reset". Would running that have fixed this without reenabling auto start-stop? TIA

Disabling the Auto Start/Stop using the Forscan method has this result, had the same issue myself, it's a known thing. I have not found a way to disable auto start/stop with Forscan that doesn't result in a light.

There were still plenty of uses, disabling seat belt dings, enabling drive modes and the double honk, but yea you need to use something like the auto stop eliminator to stop that.

Is this just 2023's? I did it on my '21 2.3 and no lights?

That moment of panic when you think you messed it up! I got that when I changed my wheel size in forscan.

There's some threads about 2023s and their compatibility with the auto start stop hack.

Amazon has one for $50 that's easier to install. I've been running one for months in my 22.

Just 2023.
Mine was the same.
I have modified other things with no ill effect, this is the only thing.
Global up windows
Amber lights during daytime running lights
Added Goat modes
Note that asbuilt data appears to update on Ford’s servers when you modify. Make sure you note what you change.
Is this just 2023's? I did it on my '21 2.3 and no lights?

Another suggestion is to buy the Ford Performance Bronco Calibration tool ( M-9603-B27 ) and install the performance tune. Gives the vehicle more horsepower, changes the shift points on the transmission, and the vehicle will stay in the last setting for auto start/stop when turned off. If auto start/stop was disabled when the vehicle is shut off, that's what it will be in when started again.

This warning basically gave me a heart attack. I instantly knew it was from my changes to FORScan. I removed the changes for ASS and I am still receiving this error message. What were the steps you took to remove this? TIA.

You saved me from a trip to the dealer and a heart attack. Have the safe Battery light and though I had messed something up. Shutting off ASS in my 2023. Thank you

I did what I described in the note you quoted so I don't know what else to tell you. I assume you have a 2023 and sounds like Forscan has not been updated for the '23 yet.

One thing I been thinking about doing is having Panda Motorworks make changes for me. They have a service where for $55 they will make 3 Forscan changes (you can add more for additional $). Looks like it still doesn't cover our ASS ( :) ) on the '23s but they can do many other things and I'd feel more confident having them do it than me.
