Not new to Ford vehicles, but new to Forscan. I bought a $200 refurb PC ThinkPad T480 (we're a MAC house) from New Egg and installed and registered the Forscan software. I also downloaded my as-built file from Ford Service (for my current F150 Plat) and the Compulsive Code as-built explorer simple app to compare as-built files. Tried a couple simple modes (backed up each module first before changes) like the double honk delete and temp values over engine and transmission gages. All went great. I used the as-built explorer app to compare the factory as built file that I downloaded from Ford Service to the backups that I made before making changes. Interestingly that my pre changes backup files showed differences from the Ford Service as-built file. Interesting and not sure why but it reinforces making sure you make back-ups of all your current modules before you start messing with Forscan changes and don't rely on the Ford Service as-built downloaded file.

The Ford online “as-built” website periodically updates itself from your vehicle using the OTA update process

So in a week or two, all those changes you made in Forscan will be in the download from the “as-built” website

Supposedly this is so actual OTA updates that need to make changes get reflected in that data and that data is current ready-to-use if you ever needed a module replacement. Why they named it “as-built” rather than “current config” I do not know

But the only way to have an actual no-kidding “as built” is to save a clean, unmodified copy from Forscan

Yeah @Brian_B is correct, it automatically updates.

It's called "As Built" simply because before connected vehicles existed it truly was the As Built configuration. It was only updated once as the vehicles were configured at the assembly plant. That name has stuck and no one bothered changing it since it's overall purpose hasn't changed.

But now of course it's really just the last known configuration that was uploaded to Ford's servers.

temp values over engine and transmission gauges -
My 2024 has a MyVIew gauges screen which displays oil, transmission, volts and turbo info. The oil and transmission display a numerical value as well.
What Forscan changes did you add? I would like to see the engine temp displayed. All i have now is a bar display.

Never thought about the OTA changes or other “writes” that service does over the years. Makes sense.

As I said earlier, I'm cutting my teeth with ForScan on my 2015 F150 Platinum. This is the engine temp and transmission temp change. I have the trailer brake controller and turbos so changed the middle set of values to E5. I don't know if this is still relevant to current Broncos.

Engine temp & Transmission temp shows above gauges (8" Clusters only)
IPC 720-07-01 xxxx xE5x xxxx ** use this if you have trailer brake controller and turbos **
IPC 720-07-01 xxxx x65x xxxx ** use this if you don't have trailer brake controller but have turbos **
IPC 720-07-01 xxxx xA5x xxxx ** use this if you have TBC but don't have turbos **
IPC 720-07-01 xxxx x25x xxxx ** use this if you don't have TBC or turbos

I'll take a look over the weekend. I think i turned on every 'temp' option available in the easy to read format and didn't get anything different. Bronco may not be looking at the these options if they are for a F150.
thanks for posting.

Yes, the outdated "as built" language is very detrimental to FORScan beginners. Not too long ago I was also completely ignorant that my vehicle periodically uploads its current FORScan state to Ford.

If your catch it just at the right time after a ForScan write and reboot you can see some kind of message that says "Updated or Uploaded" Never stays around long enough to really read it. Doesn't do it very often.

I used the Ford as-built downloader to fix my FP severe duty steering rack that the procal tuner failed to write correctly. It certainly comes in handy!

That's good to know it backs up from my changes. I keep have a lot of backups also saved on my laptop including fresh as-builts from when I bought it.
