Ford Performance Axle Swaps - how much labor required?

Just in case you haven't seen it, (the search function can be a bear sometimes) here is a link to my rear axle swap guide. It might help you determine if you have the want/ability to do it yourself. I did it on the floor with jacks and jack stands. Only specialty tool I would recommend is a good impact wrench. The control arm bolts are pretty tight.

With a lift it is not bad. It is one of those that comes right out, then you wrestle and wrestle to get it back. Then it magically pops in.

As someone who has had their front in and out three times now its not too bad. I have one of those cheap Harbor freight transmission jacks that you can ratchet up and down. it has a wider base that kinda snuggles up to the bottom of the diff nicely. The trick I have learned is when you start to lower it down you slide it over to the passenger side little by little until it is down. I have the 2.3 I4 so I cant really comment on the 2.7 V6 if there is any thing in the way that i don"t have.

Also the front drive shaft bolts are a "Torx Plus" (tp45 I think) a normal torx bit risk stripping them out. I got a cheap set on amazon for like $12. Glad I found that out before potentially having a trail fix situation and not having the right tools.
