Searched old threads and only saw people talking conspiracy theories about Ford Pass.

Other than worrying that Ford is spying on you, anyone have it? Does the remote start, lock features work as advertised? What else can you do with it? Pros and cons?

I ask because right now I’m getting the manual and it does not have the remote start capability. After coming off the flightline to an icy truck, I paused and thought that the remote start feature might be more worth while than I had considered before, especially if I could start the car from a mile away.

Appreciate anyone’s feedback who has the app and used the features.

So I have the Volvo version of this and I freaking love it! I know it is not the same app but the features are excellent to have.

Remote start is not available with a manual transmission.

FordPass allows you to stop, start, lock/unlock your vehicle not just from a mile away, but from anywhere. I have heard of people who start their vehicle at the airport parking lot FROM THE PLANE, 45 minutes before they get to the vehicle (the vehicle only stays on for 15, but it is ready for them).

I have also heard of someone heating their vehicle in the middle of a Winter, once per day, while on vacation. They got to their car and saw every other car was covered in snow/ice, except theirs.

One thing people like to do is to use their app to start their vehicle at a scheduled time every day (say 5:30pm) throughout the winter. You don't even have to think about it, your vehicle is warm when you leave the office if you do that.

It also helps you to find your vehicle if you are lost in a big parking lot.

It also helps keep track of your FP points and maintenance (like fluid levels). It also gives you a channel to talk with Ford about Roadside, vehicle issues etc.

At this point It Is becoming an extension of the vehicle.

All this being stated, I am getting the Manual and will only have a subset of these features.

It will also allow you to check Tpms even with the car off. And you can locate your car with it. For example my wife has it on her 2018 lariat. When she visits her parents I can track her progress and see where she is on her trip. It has a few functions beyond start/stop. It is awesome.

there is one detail that is just plain cool. Fordpass knows your model and color and displays it on the app. See my 2018lariat and 2019 raptor below.

I have a 2020 Explorer Platinum with Ford pass.
Remote start works like a charm and also provides visual feedback on the FOB whether the vehicle has started or not.
As for Ford pass, the app on a mobile phone works perfectly as well to lock, unlock, start, perform a health check on the vehicle, or check some basic stats on the vehicle. On the Platinum level trim, Ford pass is included and doesn't require a subscription. I am not sure if that is the case on the Bronco, but even if there is a reasonable subscription cost, I believe its worth it.

Does Ford track some information about your vehicle when Ford Pass is active?....Sure, but it's no different than Apple/Samsung/Google collecting data about the mobile phone everyone is using, not to mention TMobile/AT&T/Verizon collecting gobs of data from the cell phone plan you pay for. How about your Smart TV?....that's tracking your usage too. Connected security system?, computer?, refrigerator?...Yep, tracked. It's the price you pay for living in a "connected world".

Like some others have said, the car app is awesome. I have the gmc version. It's wicked helpful.

Well its not a theory, but it is somewhat of a "conspiracy". Ford takes your driving data and sells it to the multiple insurance companies they've partnered with. Ins company then bases your rate on how/where you drive.
