Is anyone in the group running fiberglass front and rear fenders? And if so, how did you make your decision as far as fiber works ADV or so on.

What’s funny? Am I missing something?
There was some huge scandal with ADV taking a bunch of deposits for their hard top and then squandering it all and screwing a bunch of customers if I remember right? I think they are generally untrusted but I could be wrong, it's been a while.

Editing this for SierraBronco's response below. I was inaccurate and not capturing the full story.

That could be a basic summary, but you’re missing a big part of the whole story.

ADV partnered with APG on these tops as ADV didn’t have the facilities for mass production. APG said they could do it at their California facility. ADV gave APG over $4M for tooling and ancillaries. Delays were on APG, and after two years they told ADV the tops need to be manufactured in China. ADV was giving full refunds to all customers, even taking the hit on credit card processing fees. It was not until APG told ADV that they owned the patent and they were cutting ADV out, keeping all rights to manufacturing and distribution. As well as all the funds received. This is when ADV had to send their unfortunate email to affected customers to say they can no longer refund the orders.

The story breaks out on the internet, and we had a long thread going on this forum. APG comes on to the thread to defend themselves, saying they never told customers to make deposits nor did they accept a single cent from customers. (Paraphrasing) A member found a post from APG that included a link and instructions to make deposits, clearly showing that APG has zero integrity. APG then went through a post deletion spree. Strange. ADV is currently suing APG and they said they have every intention on refunding the remaining customers after they win. To be clear-I’m not justifying what happened. Just providing additional context. I’m not affiliated with them in any capacity. Just another random person with the ability to notice things…

As far as their fenders, ADV has the best looking fenders available. That’s why we went with them. We’ve rubbed them against rocks…a lot…and they have yet to crack. Actually pretty surprised. I gave them another chance after the hardtop debacle to see what or how the products changed, and the new 8ā€ fenders seem every bit as good as the 5ā€ fenders. They delivered them in about five weeks if I remember correctly.

Am i safe to assume the 5" fenders is what you have installed in the pictures? You plan on selling those to install the 8"?

Yes, I have the Fun haver kit, I really only went with it cause of the rear panels. I prefer this look over the rest out there.

Amazing summary, thank you for clarifying the situation. That's very valuable information. Sounds like I was pretty inaccurate on the true culprit.

All good man. I was doing a lot of trolling on that thread, including making fun of some influencer for his giant titties, so it was easy to keep up on. I wouldn’t expect anyone to go through all 340 pages (pages. Not posts) or whatever it is.

I edited my original comment post to direct folks to your response. Great looking out, and thanks for suffering the 300 something thread :)

Thank you for taking the time to share. I’m looking at doing the fenders because the tire crashes the fender when going through the whoops.

That thread may have got out of control. Litebright came in and started defending themselves and their Onlyfans, someone signed up to said onlyfans then was DM’ing everyone the pictures, litebright randomly dm’d me with screenshots of their bank statements (I didn’t open) to prove they don’t need any money from sponsors, I discovered the only fans was actually of the wife and not the husband, the next video from the guy with the titties referenced his titties and how he didn’t know he was a girl (normally I wouldn’t make fun of someone for their physical appearance but this dude was basically saying everyone that got screwed was a dumbass because HE KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN! But…he was also a previous customer. And thought his status as an influencer would get him a top sooner than everyone else. Wrong kind of titties sir, please get in line), I’m pretty little people were brought up, and maybe even wookies.

It’s a lot to sort through.

That’s a good call. Make certain you move the wiring harness on the driver side when you’re in there. Maybe hold off on the whoops until you do. Would make for a bad day to cut that effer in half.
