agree this is a smart move to offset lower volume from constraints.
but within a specific vehicle model, e.g. F-150 or Bronco, and you have enough chips/commodities to build either a base/XL or Badlands/Lariat.. why not build the Badlands.. profit margin is known to be higher on higher trims. realize that some higher trims require more chips, but typically very small incremental over lower trim
